What is Shelter From the Storm?

SFTS is a group of dedicated volunteers who work together to save adoptable animals from over-crowded animal shelters. Our goal is to reduce the euthenasia rate of healthy, adoptable animals in the nations' over-crowded humane societies and shelters. We bring adoptable animals into a home environment by placing them into a suitable foster home where they begin basic training and socialization. We also attend to their medical needs including vaccinations, heartworm testing, feline leukemia/FIV testing, deworming, and flea/tick prevention.

We strive to educate the public on animal health care and animal overpopulation. In addition to our adoption services, we provide a low cost Spay Me! clinic open to the public. Our goal is to ultimately provide a full service, sliding scale veterinary clinic.
