About Foster homes - Foster homes are the backbone of rescue.  Fostering an animal provides a bridge; a way for it to get from the street or the shelter to that special 'forever' home we know is out there.  A foster home provides a safe environment for the animal, while giving us an opportunity to get to know the individual animal better, so that we can place it in the best possible home (for example: prefers to be an only cat, dog is great with children, etc.)  All expenses of a foster animal are covered by the Bedford Humane Society.  We need people to love, socialize and housebreak these animals to make them adoption-ready.  This is an excellent project for young people, under parental supervision.   more info...
