Omar
Omar

Linda,

How are you? I hope you are doing well in both health and this stinking economy.

Seems like it has been forever, but less than two years has passed since we adopted Omar. I believe you said he was snatched out of the line of dogs about to get put down. That would have been the crime of the century. You may remember we adopted him to be a companion to our rescue Shih-Tzu Gizzy. Gizzy hates him...really! In our family, usually the boy dogs go to my wife, and the girl dogs come to me. I have Wickett who is Gizzy's twin and those two are inseparable. But, Wickett is my baby. Well, Mr Omar decided that I was his buddy, not the wife. He follows me around constantly as I can not get out of eye sight. I have rarely seen a dog as gentle as Omar. He is about 15 pounds now, but when he jumps on the bed you can't even feel him hit the mattress. Everybody that comes here loves him. The Shih-Tzus bark and Omar gets the loving. He is the ultimate people dog. He is very funny in his actions and is the only one who "demands" you to play with him when he's ready. He will either throw a squeaky ball at you or drop it in your lap. How can you ignore that? He sleeps in bed next to me and has to be touching his human all night. If I roll over too far, he gets up, turns in a circle and plops next to me again.

One of his aliases is Mr Pib (Pain in the Butt). I tell him he is a pain and he just gives me the oogle eye. I usually call him Oogie, or Ooglie....I guess that is a version of Omar. His best doggie friend is my daughter's beagle, Rocky. Those two are the funniest litle "butt buddies" you will ever see.  Rocky is also a rescue from her husband's relatives who mistreated him.

I have attached a couple of pictures you can use if you wish in your success stories and pictures. The most important message I can get to you is that Omar is a treat and we were blessed to find him. If you can, I think it would be good to put one of his pictures in the article that was on your web site, and what he looks like now. Oh yes, the Shih-Tzus taught him how to steal Hibuscus blooms off my plants.

Let me know if you can use any of the pics. Might be my and/or Omar's only claim to fame.

C-ya later,

Jack
