Maxine

Thank you so much Linda for taking such good care of Maxie (‘Maxine’) at your home until we were able to bring her into our own home.

This all started several weeks ago when my husband Dan started asking me to consider an indoor dog. After much thought I started to consider it, and checked www.petfinder.org to see if there was a dog at a local shelter that met my long list of criteria. Plus I knew my husband was interested in a beagle

Maxine & family

Our criteria were:
- Beagle
- Female
- fixed
- house-trained
- past the puppy stage
- calm-natured but yet loving
- gets along well with other dogs and cats
- not aggressive in any way

We found Maxie (2 years old) almost immediately, and she seemed perfect, so we arranged with Linda to meet her. It almost broke my heart to see how many wonderful dogs there are that need homes. However, because there were so many dogs to choose from, I felt like anyone could find the perfect pet for themselves like we did.

Maxine & Pop

The ONLY thing about Maxie when we met her that made us unsure at first was that she was EXTREMEMLY shy. But Dan & I decided to give her a chance, and now we can’t imagine our home without her. Just within the last two weeks, she’s come out of her shell so much! With each day came great improvement. Now, she seems totally at home.

She loves going for long walks and running around in the big pen with our other dog Shadow. And our cat Rascal likes her so much he walks with her all around the yard. Maxie loves to cuddle and therefore is most often found snuggled up with her new daddy (Dan) on the sofa. She’s such a sweet and wonderful dog, and we just love her! We’re so glad we adopted her. Maxie has definitely found her forever home.

Maxine

Sincerely,
Jean & Dan Nelson
