Meet "Mountain Goat" Moe

We call Moe the "mountain goat" because he enjoys flirting with danger and fearlessly climbs onto tables, shelves, and other high places -- scaring the wits out of his foster family! You can actually see the wheels turning in his head "Hmmm... if I jump onto the chair, then off the back across the dog kennel to the top of the counter, I can climb that stack of books and make it to the top of the bookshelf!" Needless to say, his foster family keeps close tabs on him, to prevent any falls and avert disaster.

You'd never guess by looking at Moe that he's as agile and active as he is! Moe is a 7 year old red smooth male dachshund who weighs about 14 pounds. He was surrendered by an owner who could no longer care for him. Moe was in good health and neutered when he was surrendered, just requiring some immunization updates from our rescue veterinarian.

Being an adult, Moe has outgrown all the destructive dachshund "bad habits", like chewing on things, that are more common with younger dogs. No chewed up pillows, no shredded curtains, no scratched cabinets, no soiled carpets - you won't have to worry about those things with Moe!

But you WILL need to hide the mountain climbing gear!
