| Blue numerals and asterisk - Close to the exact location of the rescue organization/person. These locations will take in rescue Akitas when room is available, or help to find foster homes or permanent homes for Akitas evaluated as placeable, and have rescue Akitas available for adoption. |
| Red numerals - These locations will take in rescue Akitas when room is available, or help to find foster homes or permanent homes for Akitas evaluated as placeable. These are individuals who receive no funding. They help with rescue using their own time and money and donations are always appreciated. |
| Purple numerals - Organizations/persons that do not usually have room to take Akitas in, but will help with either referral or information to help place Akitas. |
