Just wanted to give you guys a happy update on Gus, who we adopted from you guys back in 2/1/04. Tomorrow is his 2yr adoption bday for being in my home and we all love him and his unique personality! Gus lives happily w/ my wife, my 6 month old, and our 4 yr old chocolate lab, Hallie. Gus could not be a more fun loving dog who loves everyone. My favorite moments with Gus are when he lies on his back and cuddles with me on my recliner and sometimes will even nap w/me while still laying on his back! Gus is a true love-bug! Another happy ending for one of your rescue dogs! Thank you for what you do for your rescue GSP’s and what did for Gus! We love him! -- Warmest regards, Rubin Family |
Thought I would give you an update on Maddie aka Ladybird. We have had her almost a year and she is a wonderful dog. She is happy, sweet and very playful. We take her for rides in the golfcart which she loves. I hope everyone who has adopted from GSP Rescue of TX has found the perfect match as we did. You guys are doing a great job, keep up the good work....The King Family |
Mason is doing great. He is getting big. He is doing great walking on a leash now. He does not walk like a
normal dog. He has a strut just like the show dogs do around the ring.
He must know he is good looking. |
Can you say "HEAVEN!" Her first few hours and she is already at home...one step at a time, although very tentative. Thought you might enjoy these! I promise Trixie will be very loved. She was just waiting for us to find her. As soft and as timid as she is, we can only hope that we can erase all of the pain and hardship that she might have endured. We saw a glimpse into her past as she slowly drug her body, slinking if you may, staring at each of us closely, waiting for the hammer to fall. Once she realized that we weren't going to yell or raise a hand to her, she relaxed as she well deserved. Thanks again and God Bless! Tamala McMillen and Family |
Jango is a big dog who seems to really like to stay close to us. He's doing very well in the house so far, and he slept through the night in our bedroom with no problem (he even let us sleep in a little). We look forward to getting to know Jango better, and we're welcoming him as the newest member of our little family! Thanks, Eric & Kim & Jango |
Otto has been the most wonderful pet companion a person could have. We take him to the dog park and to the greenbelt hiking. He absolutley loves it. Two weeks ago we took him to Arkansas Bend on Lake Travis and he is an excellent swimmer; he didn't want to get out of the water. He's very comfortable now! Every morning about 7 am he pounces on the bed to wake us up because he is ready to eat and play. Otto loves to play fetch, but only inside the house. Once we go outside all he wants to do is run and have a good time and he always does. He is such a happy puppy. I should admit though, he is a couch potato sometimes. We are slowly getting to trust leaving him out of his kennel while we are gone. He's done well so far. He's such a sweet boy. I've attached some photos for you, hope you enjoy! Christel & Otto |
Logan and Julie are doing just fine together. He has learned to use the doggie door. My Vet has pronounced him very healthy and just an awesome dog. She puts his age at 19 months. Judging by his antics that seems about right. My large fenced back yard is ideal for the 2 of them. Logan loves to run and get Julie to chase him. I use a split lead to walk them and they love to use me for a maypole. It's going to take awhile to get that resolved. Logan does stay close but given his background on multiple homes in a short time I can understand that. He is learning his name and what "no" means. In short, a lot of progress in a short time! Thanks Frank, Julie & Logan |
Tex, our adopted GSP is working out great! He is a very good fit for our family and for Cody, our Vizsla. We anticipate 6-12 months before he is well trained; however, he has been learning very fast. He is definitely healthy and is being properly cared for so you can feel good about providing him a good home. Tex and Cody play constantly all day…It’s kind of funny; when he starts to become disobedient it is usually because he is exhausted / tired. It is those times we put him to bed and you don’t hear a peep out of him until you wake him the next morning. He is very easy to read, if you know what I am talking about. Oh, he definitely loves to ride in automobiles, for what that is worth… Therefore, we are grateful that we picked up Tex because he not only provides Cody companionship but also is a perfect fit for our family. Thanks for what you do and if you’re ever in the area and you want to visit Tex, feel free to stop by. Cheers, Jack & Melissa, and Cody & Tex |
Thought that you might enjoy seeing these photos of RC at his first Christmas with his new family, playing with his presents. I am sure that you are proud of the work you are doing for these loving guys. You would hardly recognize RC, he has changed so much. He is very affectionate, tries to be a big puppy. Learned to play, almost talks to my daughter verbally when she plays with him, catches his ball and brings it back for next throw. He is a very happy dog. He is a typical GSP, with his own personality - can be a clown, has learned to play, has a green plastic ball that he will bring to anyone that will throw it for him. Thinks my daughter visits just for him. Tends to be a couch potato. I work from a home office so he is here sleeping behind me most of the day. He would love to be in my lap but he is too big. This is getting pretty long , but this (RC) has been such a success I wish I could take several more. THANKS John , Ruth, Morgan & RC |
Lucy (Leelu) is doing great. She has really settled in great with us, and we're enjoying her as our part of her family! I'm sending you some pictures from Xmas - she absolutely LOVES her bird toy and the close-up by the Xmas tree was taken when she was SUPER focused on her bird - which we strategically placed above the camera to get this great shot! Hope you enjoy it! Holly, Michael & Lucy |
Hi - I just wanted to give you an update on Greta. She settled in here much quicker than we expected. Cody (our brittany) and her get along really well. It is amazing how he never played with any other dogs or any toys, but with her around he is so playful. They always want the one bone (or bed) that the other one has. They chase each other around inside and outside, we get dizzy watching them. We just got 18inches of snow last weekend, and Greta loves it! She is hilarious, bounding through the snow piles like a deer. We have noticed a huge difference in her, especially in the last month. She isn't so submissive like she was when we first met her in Austin. Her tail is always up and wagging like crazy. And she is even not scared to meet new people anymore. She used to have her tail between her legs and hesitate to go up to someone new, but now she is all happy to meet new people. We are just starting basic training with her. Thanks for all your help, Greta is the perfect little dog for us! Bridgette & Mike |
Hi everyone! Dixie is home and adjusting nicely. Scout is in love with her, as we knew she would be, but Dixie is definitly the "A" in this relationship, as Scout sat by and let Dixie drink first, then just followed her around. Our spaniel sniffed up a storm, being the only boy, but quickly lost interest when she ignored him. Thank you ALL again for all you do - finding Dixie was such a wonderful thing for us, albeit she had to go through some bad stuff to get to ya'll, to get to us. We look forward to many happy years together - Lance, Debi, Maezi Grace, Carli, Raif, Scout and Dixie |

I have been meaning to e-mail you and send pictures, but I haven't quite mastered the sending pictures part... It will happen someday. Jim (previously known as Quinn) is a great, great dog. He spends the day with me at my office, and everyone loves him. I am amazed at how mellow he is with strangers and other dogs. Most days we go for a walk in the woods so he can be off-leash and chase squirrels or deer. At first he stayed pretty close to me, but now he stays gone a little longer than is comfortable for me. So, I've gotten a little more cautious about the off-leash part. I'm planning to enroll in some training classes, just for a tune-up as he is very well behaved. One of his love names is Gentleman Jim. He also goes with me to meetings, etc. and just stays happily in the car. We are totally bonded and I am so grateful to you and GSP Rescue. It's a perfect match. Best always, Emily |
I just thought that I'd give y'all a brief update! He's doing great! He loves playing with all of his toys ( and some of my things as well). He goes through tennis balls like a pro player. He even lets me dress him up occasionally for the season. In these pics, he suffered the reindeer antlers. He sends his love, and hopefully one day we'll get a gsp brother or sister to add to our small family! Season's Greetings! Ryan Hill |
Hi - I wanted to email you and tell you that my mother and father adopted a german shorthair named toby from you guys 2 years ago. He is doing wonderful we could not ask for a more loving pet. He gives us hugs and kisses all the time and he does really well with my daughter. He still shows some signs of being scarred with some things because of his past life but all in all he is just a joy. I am sending you a picture of him now just to let you see he has it made in the shade. My husband and i are also very interested in the near future in adopting a german shorthair from you guys, we just love toby and would love a dog just like him. Again thank you for taking such good care of these pups! Sincerely, Crystal, Doug, Kayla, and Toby |
