Our adoption process:
Fill out an adoption application form online.
Once we receive the completed application, you should hear from us within 4 - 5 days. We appreciate your patience, as we are a volunteer based organization.
Once we receive your application, we may require a home visit.
Upon approval, you may then schedule a meeting with the dogs we believe to be a match for your family.
Please be sure to indicate on your application the dogs you are most interested in meeting.
You may mention a dog's name or a description of your preferences, for example, a child-friendly or cat-friendly dog.
All dogs have been spayed or neutered, are up to date on vaccinations,
on heart worm preventative, de-wormed, and most have been microchipped or tattooed prior to placement.
To defray the increasing cost of vetting and caring for our dogs, we require an adoption donation.
The minimum* adoption donations are as follows:

Puppies under the age of 1 year: $300

Senior dogs 8 years or older: $150

Adult dogs between 1 and 8 years old: $250

Mixed breed dogs: $150. While we do not accept mixed breed dogs into our program, we do have a limited number available for adoption through unusual circumstances.
* Donations above the minimum amount are always appreciated and go towards helping even more dogs in need!
Is a GSP Right for You?
GSP Rescue of North Texas is powered by our volunteer's love of the German Shorthaired breed, but they are not for everyone.
