Volunteer

Volunteers are an important asset to Action For Animals Humane Society. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generous contributions of our volunteers.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Ages 13-18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Over 18 just come on in!
  • Volunteers should be willing to make a six month commitment of two hours a week.
  • You will be required to fill out an application and attend a two hour training orientation. Our next volunteer orientation session is scheduled for Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 5:30PM to 7PM at our Shelter. Call 724-539-2544 to register.

Why Volunteer?

  • Your presence as a volunteer will help animals during their transition stay at AFA to get ready for a new, forever home.
  • If you ever wanted to learn about animal behavior and training, this is your chance to develop new skills while exploring the field of animal care.
  • It's a great way to meet people with similar interests and make new friends.
  • You'll learn new skills and work experience for future endeavors.
  • And of course walking dogs is great exercise for both you and the dog.

Volunteer... make a difference in the lives of our animal friends and you will find your own life changed in the process!
