Foster Homes Needed

Action For Animals is in need of a few good foster homes for some of our long term or special needs animals. We have both dogs and cats who would benefit from your tender loving care. Fostering a special needs animal is a very rewarding experience. Just a little of your time can make a huge difference in their life.

Foster Home Requirements:

1. You will need to complete an application, which will tell us more about you and your household, so that we can match you up with the right animal.

2. It is necessary to sign and adhere to a contract. Caretakers will be provided with medical supplies for the animal, if necessary.

3. Any vet visits will be paid for by the shelter, only after approval from the shelter manager.

4. Foster lengths can vary, depending on the case.

If you haven't shared your time with a pet for a while, if you are thinking about adopting a pet in the future, or if one of the shelter animals could learn some good manners from one of your own pets, foster care would be a great opportunity for you. Knowing that you would be responsible for giving an animal a second chance at a great life will bring you so much joy.

The Foster Program is instrumental in finding permanent homes for animals who need extra TLC or who need help with their manners. Many of our animals come to us as strays and we have no background information on them - many have never even been inside a home before. These are the ones who need a caring person to help them along, so that someday they can be placed in a permanent home with a loving family. All foster pets are current on vaccinations, are microchipped, spayed/neutered and wormed. Send an email, call, or visit the shelter if you are interested.
