There is a $120.00 donation fee for the adoption of any dog or puppy in our shelter. This amount includes spay or neuter, vaccinations, worming, kennel cough vaccine, AVID microchipping, and a helpful adoption kit.

The adoption fee for cats and kittens is $70.00. This amount includes spay or neuter, vaccinations, worming, FeLv\FIV testing, AVID microchipping, and a helpful adoption kit.

The adoption fee for Rabbits is $30.00, Guinea Pigs is $15.00 and Hamsters is $5.00.

We accept payment in the form of cash, check, Visa and Mastercard. Be sure to watch for any specials we are running on animals that have been with us for a while!

Most of the people that adopt a pet from AFA come back and tell us that they don't think of it as adopting a pet, but more like finding a friend. The adoption process itself is relatively simple. The first step you must take is to come visit us and see if your future best friend is here waiting for you. If you find a pet that you like, you will need to fill out an adoption application. One of our staff members will go over your paperwork with you, and upon approval, you may take your new companion home. The whole process takes just a few minutes and you'll be on the road to a wonderful life with your new pet. All animals adopted from AFA are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, microchippped, and are sent home with a very helpful adoption kit. If you are located a long distance from our shelter, you may want to consider applying by phone. This will enable our staff to give you your approval status before traveling.
