You're Invited! This Saturday and Sunday, September 11 and 12, Plain & Fancy Animal Rescue will be part of Petsmart's "Second Chance For Love National Adoption Weekend". We will be setting up outside the store in tents, with lots of special activities and surprises. Bring your pets, and have a professional photograph taken of them (with have the money going to help Plain & Fancy). There will be plenty of surprises, so mark your calendar now to join us at Petsmart's East Lancaster Store, 2395 Lincoln Highway East (near Rockvale Square and Target). Please note: In order to be able to adopt on-site, you must complete an adoption application in advance, so we can check your references. Just put "Petsmart Application" in the space for which animal you want to adopt.
Thanks for your continued support! Every time we think things are going to slow down, another breeder closes their doors (or has them closed for them), or the economy forces someone else to give up their family pet. We have placed hundreds of dogs, and it seems there are hundreds more waiting to find a new "forever home". We appreciate your help more than you will ever know!

Have you made a donation to "The Rubix Fund" yet? It's a way to help really needy dogs. 
This is Rubix...at the time of the picture (and his surgery), he was a 12 week old English Bulldog that was born with a cleft palate. In the past, he would have been destroyed rather than have the necessary surgery to let him live. He was surrendered to us, and now is rehabilitating in his new "forever home" from the repair to his cleft palate that will grant him many happy years to come. And he's not the first...there was "Lizzy", a dog that was injured in an automobile accident, then surrendered when her owner could not afford the hip surgery that would allow her to live life to the fullest again. And there are more dogs (and other animals) like them that need very expensive surgery to have a full life. That's why Rubix, Lizzy and the others asked us to start this fund, to help more animals get the care they need. We know that asking for the full cost of the surgery in an adoption fee would make their adoption very difficult. So "The Rubix Fund" monies will only go to pay for surgery for special needs dogs.
