Each year thousands of animals are surrendered to shelters. Loyal friends with big hearts find themselves in area shelters wondering why their owners no longer want them. The staff and volunteers of the Butler County Humane Society work effortlessly to care for these homeless pets. We offer them kindness and love while we treat their illnesses, ease their loneliness and confusion, and search for forever homes. |

The cost of caring for a healthy animal in our shelter is approximately $12 a day. Special Needs animals are animals that have certain health, disability, or behavior issues that require special attention. Some examples could be an animal with diabetes that will typically require medication, testing, and special food, a pet with an amputated limb, or a dog undergoing treatment for heartworm. Special Needs animals generally are much harder to find adoptive homes for and because people may not have the money or time to care for such an animal they spend longer lengths of times in the shelter. Therefore, the ongoing cost of caring for a special needs animal is somewhat higher. We can continue to provide medical care and save animals in hopeless situations… |

Choose the pet you would like to sponsor (1st and 2nd choice) and choose your sponsorship level: $12 – sponsors a pet for one day $80 – sponsors a pet for one week $160 – sponsors a pet for two weeks $320 – sponsors a pet for one month $960 – sponsors a pet for three months Each sponsor will receive a “thank you” from his or her sponsor pet. Names and sponsorship lengths will be acknowledged on the website next to the pet they have sponsored. (This information will be updated monthly) |
| We ask that you choose a primary and secondary choice. It is everyone’s hope that our shelter animals find forever homes. If your primary choice finds an adoptive home we will move your sponsorship to your secondary choice. Following that your sponsorship will be considered a donation to help support all the unwanted animals in the shelter.
