Golden Paw Program What it is: The Butler County Humane Society is launching a new program to help senior residents find loving homes in their golden years. The stress of the shelter environment and the competition among younger animals is so very hard on our older pets. The BCHS wants to promote Senior Pet Adoptions with reduced adoption fees and special take home care packages designed especially for older pets. We need your support in order to do this! Your sponsorship will give a senior pet a home to live out the rest of its life by encouraging potential adopters to not overlook our senior friends. For each senior pet adoption that you sponsor, your name or business will be displayed on its kennel cage. When that pet goes home with its forever family, the BCHS will send you a postcard from your Golden Paw sponsor notifying you of the adoption and thanking you for your help in making it possible. If you are interested in sponsoring a senior pet, please click here to open the sponsorship form.
Here is a list of our sponsored senior pets waiting to go home:

My Heart is young, my mind is sharp, and my soul is strong. Many may think that my age means I will not be here very long. My coat may not be as shiny as it used to be, and my legs may wobble just a bit. I might walk a little slower, and give the choice probably prefer to sit. I might have some grey on my face and my teeth...well they might not be white. My hearing might not be so great, and my eyes not so bright. But I can still be your friend and sleep right by your side. I can still jump in the car and go with you for a ride. I can look in your eyes with trust and know that you are there. I can nuzzle your neck when you are lonely to let you know I care. Still I don't have a family right now to call my own. The BCHS is what I currently call home. The shelter is nice, but for an old pet like me, When my time comes, it is not where I should be. I have been loyal, I have been faithful, I have been loving to all those I have known. Will you please help me find my very last home? |
