~Did you know that the BCHS does educational tours for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc for a donation fee of $20.00 per tour. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact the shelter at 724-789-1150.

~Did you know that you can donate a vehicle to the BCHS that you no longer use? You can make a difference for the animals at the BCHS with a donation of your car. When you donate your car to the BCHS, the vehicle is picked up free of charge. We will take those unwanted automobiles and the proceeds will support the BCHS. ~Did you know that certain brands of dry pet food were recently recalled because of Salmonella concerns? Salmonella can cause serious infections in dogs and cats. ~Did you know that Purina has a program called Pets for Seniors? It is a discount program to qualified seniors. This will give seniors over age 60 a $50.00 discount on BCHS adoptions. Studies have shown that pet companionship actually improves senior citizen health and outlook on life. Lowered blood pressure and a reduction in stress are among the potential benefits of pet ownership. In addition, seniors with pets report feeling safer and happier.

 

 

 

~Did you know the BCHS has just distributed pet oxygen masks to some of the local fire departments in Butler County? This will help the fire departments save pets lives in the event that there is a fire and they have suffered from smoke inhalation. Just another way the BCHS is contributing to help save lives.
