ALERT FOR ALL DOG OWNERS

Most dog owners are probably not aware that raisins and grapes can be toxic to dogs. A case of raisin toxicity was recently brought to our attention. This particular dog was 56 pounds and ate a half canister of raisins. He started with vomiting, diarrhea and shaking, and rapidly progressed to acute kidney failure and eventually had to be euthanized.

Please alert all dog owners you know of this very serious risk. Many owners feed their dogs raisins or grapes as treats. The ASPCA National Animal Poison Control Center said as few as 7 raisins or grapes could be toxic.

See below for the ASPCA's list of foods that are dangerous for your pets.
