This is our policy for animals that are brought to the shelter as strays:
If you lose a pet and wait too long to contact us, your pet may already have a new family. Don't delay!
If you are searching for your lost pet and contact us, we are best able to recognize it if we have a photo. Descriptions alone are generally too vague. *Photos will not be returned. If you email a photo to us, it will be printed out for staff and also posted on our shelter bulletin board.

Kelly is 5 year old cholate Lab. She loves to hunt and loves people. She is a family dog and we all miss her. On Monday, January 19 at about 4pm Kelly was hunting with family and she jumped in the river after a goose and was swept away by the fast moving river that runs along 220 behind the Barge. They chased after her and they were not able to reach her with the ice in the way. They are not sure if she got out but they were unable to find her. She has a white hunting vest on and no collar. She answers to the name Kelly. We miss her very much and will not stop looking for her We have offerd a reward for her return. Our daughter's dog, Muttley, ran off during a thunder storm - he got out of a kennell we thought was unescapable. He did not have a license on him as he had outgrown his old collar and the license had not yet gotten transferrred to his new collar.
He is part chow and part whatever - about 8 years old, brown in color. We live in Gillett PA - have you by any chance found him? If you think you have, please email me his picture and we will let you know if it is him.

On June 30 our 3 pound Yorkie ran off from the intersection of Cadis and Leraysville Roads, near Warren Center PA. An complete search of the area was unsuccessful although she was sited on the Cadis Rd at several location. She is a beautiful little 3 pound, black Yorkie with a gold face and is very shy. Found: a cute little kitty on Williams street in Towanda. Approx. 3 or 4
months, female I think. Very friendly and very hungry but looks to be in
good condition. The pic is not that great cause it's a cell phone pic and
she won't stop moving. I'll try to get a better pic of her tomorrow and

Found very hungry April 27, 2007 on Hoover Street in Sayre. This cat clearly belongs to someone, it is very friendly. We have brought it inside to protect it from the feral cats in the neighborhood, after we removed the ticks. If this is your cat call 570-888-0785. We lost two dogs, one male staffshire terrier that is white with light brown brindle spots about 5 years old about 80 pounds still wearing a leash and comes to the name Coon, and one female American bulldog that is also white with darker brown brindle spots that is about 80 pounds wearing a collar and comes to the name Brama. We lost them at about 4:15 p.m. yesterday (4/8/07) and looked for them for about four hours until it got too dark. When we lost them they were headed from Main Street in Chemung to Wyncoop Creek Road in Chemung mostly in the woods by the creek. My sister lost her cat when she was in a car accident with the cat in the car on Rt 715 near Effort, Pa. His name is Elvis and he is a pretty large cat. with a slightly hanging belly. you can say he was fat but not really just big. He is a 9 yr old male neutered cat. They gray coloring seems to be with a darker stripes more on the black side than say on the brown side. We don't know if he was injured or not. Attached are pictures of the Persian Stray Cat that was found on February 25th in Ridgebury PA. My husband was hunting and come across the cat on the side of the road frozen and weezing, full of ice sicles and sick. The cat is gray/white, declawed front and back claws both, about 3yrs old and looks like someone had tried to cut off hair balls all over it's body, very choppy looking. She also has a few ' chipped teeth.. according to Laurel Hill Vet. in East Smithfield. The is also a female and has been spayed. I'm wondering if the stray cat you got yesterday could be related to this stray cat, they sound very similiar.

My name is Ashley Hoey and my cat, Bacardi, got outside early Sunday morning. Usually if he gets out, he comes back with in a few hours. I haven't seen him since then and it is now late Monday night.
I thought that he would stay close to our house on Church Street in Athens but, I haven't seen any paw prints in the snow or any signs that he's in the neighborhood. We are on the look out for him and so

This evening we found a small young black and white cat in our garage. It
is extremely friendly and was terribly hungry. We fed it and gave it a

My malamute was lost on october 9, 2006. I have two and both got loose. My female was found the next day and returned. She had been hurt by some wild animal so it is likely that Wolf is in the woods around Camptown. It is possible that he might be found by a hunter.
Wolf, however hasn't been found yet. He has a large black collar on but not his tags. He does have an implant. He is about 2 years old. Black and white purebred. Weighs about 120 lbs and is very sweet.
We miss him terribly and want him back home. He is my little boy's best friend and Destiny's partner.

Please Help! My adult female JRT became missing on Sat., Aug. 12th after 6 PM. I have attached a picture. We were at our cabin at Quick's Bend/Dietrick plot between Sugar run and Rocky Forest. Our Neighbors and nearby residents are aware of our dilema. TOOTSIE is 4yrs, old, predominately white with a brown head with a touch of black around her nose. Her body has faint brown spots throughout. Her ears are erect and tail is long. She weighs about 10 lbs. She can be timid, but very lovable and friendly. She should come if called by name. My coonhound, Spencer, got loose on Wednesday June 28th around 7pm, from our house in Richford. He's a family pet, not a hunting dog. We got him a year ago from Ithaca SCPA and he is still very wary of (new) people. He's not at all aggressive. He has escaped only a few times before but usually comes back in a few hours, only once staying out overnight.
Because of all the storms, I'm afraid he has lost his trail back home. And we know he is very afraid of the storms. He has a red collar with his dog license and rabies tag. Our info is engraved on the back of the tags. He also has on a blue tracking type harness. We haven't seen him or even heard him since he got out.
