This is the story of a kitten....

Foster Mom Judy remembers -

LS LS2

My most memorable foster was Little Survivor. I will never forget his beautiful little face.I called this fellow Little Survivor but unfortunately he did not live up to his name. He had been trapped at a local farm. The farmer knew the kitten with the bad eye was there but wanted nothing to do with him. It took our volunteers several days to trap him and when I got a good look at him it was sickening. He must have been suffering so much yet purred up a storm. Little Survivor was a sweet, gentle, friendly little kitten. Several days after surgery to remove his eye he passed away peacefully. He just did not have the strength to fight the infection in his frail body. It was not the ending I wanted but I was thankful that he died peacefully in a warm bed, with a full belly and not a long slow death on the farm. This is the kind of work the volunteers at SCB do everyday.

This is the type of important work that Stray Cat Blues does behind the scenes, work that the public does not see because this sweet little one did not make it to an adoption day. Your donations help us to relieve the suffering of some of the smallest and most vulnerable among us.

While this little one did not make it, many others are successfully hand-raised and make it to that adoption day. For these kittens, your donations help bridge the gap between the adoption fees we collect and the actual cost of caring for these kittens and getting them to that day.
