The Cat Shack is a non-profit, 501(c)3
organization designed to help find homes for cats in need and aid in the
fight to end pet overpopulation. These cats come to us as strays, orphans
and unfortunately, sometimes as unwanted pets.
Prior to adoption, we neuter/spay all cats and kittens, bring all required
vaccines up-to-date. All our cats are tested for Feline
Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immuno deficiency virus (FIV). All animals
in The Cat Shack program are kept until they find homes. The Cat Shack
serves to place 3 CATegories of needy cats:
|

|
Friendly Strays and kittens looking
for safe, permanent indoor homes.
|
|

|
Feral (wild) Strays who are not suitable for
inside homes and who seek safe, permanent barn homes where they can be
employed as mousers. Barn cats require an application but no adoption
donation is required. Donations are, of course, welcome.

|

|
In an effort to help people place pets that
they can no longer keep for some reason, we will post the cats
picture/story and the owner's contact information. These cats are NOT
being adopted through The Cat Shack and the adopter will deal directly
with the owner. These cats will have a * symbol next to their names.

Update on Max's Story
On October 12, 2007, our former foster cat Max attended
the "Doing More for Pets" contest awards ceremony in Los
Angeles! Though Max did not win,
he would like to thank all of those who voted for him! All of the animals who attended were
recognized for their amazing rescue stories (and got to meet Emily Procter from
CSI:Miami) and we couldn't be more proud of Max!
