Applications submitted for dogs not currently on our pet list will be held for three months. If within that time, a dog becomes available that might match the request, the application will then be processed.  For these applicants, please continue to check out dog list, and let us know if one particularity interests you.

You must be willing to drive to the foster location to pick up a dog.  

As we conduct home visits before each dog is adopted, we cannot accept any applications that are not within a 3 hour drive of Hamilton.

We do not adopt dogs under 10 lbs to families with children under 10 years old.

Adoption fees are based on age, and specific fees are listed in each dog’s description on Petfinder. The adoption fee primarily helps us offset the high costs of vetting. If within the first 2 weeks following the adoption you decide that the dog is not compatible to your home environment, your adoption fee will be refunded minus a $100 administration fee.Any amount over and above the adoption fee will be issued a tax receipt.  We are a registered charity # 889508909RR0001.

Our process applicators are volunteers and have work and family commitments, so each application can take up to two to three weeks to process.  We try to find the best home for each dog, so filling out an application does not mean that you will be automatically guaranteed the specified dog.
