Our Adoptable Rabbits

Happy Homes!

BUNNY OF THE MONTH

Janis & Bobby

Janis and Bobby are a sweet, loving mismatched pair! Janis is a gorgeous black Lionhead mix, while Bobby is a beautiful seal point dwarf mix. Both can be a little nervous at times, but are also quite a curious pair!

They are very loving with one another and would like a quiet home without small children.

NEWS

In this post-Easter season, New Moon Rabbit Rescue is receiving a record number of calls regarding stray and abandoned rabbits. More foster homes are URGENTLY being sought in order to accommodate as many of them as possible! Please apply today.

WHO WE ARE

New Moon Rabbit Rescue was formed in September 2006 with one main goal: to provide unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or abused domestic rabbits with a second chance at human love and appropriate care.

New Moon Rabbit Rescue is Registered Charity # 82515 0329 RR0001. We are a "no-kill" organization dedicated to providing care for rescued domestic rabbits. All rabbits remain in foster homes until such time as they are adopted to loving, caring homes. We serve Ottawa, Ontario and the surrounding areas of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.

We work with high-volume shelters in order to give these rabbits a second chance at adoption, as well as accepting stray rabbits and rabbits from owners surrendering their pet.

We also strive to bring awareness to such issues as spaying or neutering your rabbit, not releasing your rabbit into the wild and keeping rabbits indoors as house pets.

ADOPTING A RABBIT

All rabbits that come into the care of New Moon Rabbit Rescue are spayed or neutered, health checked and if necessary, fully rehabilitated before adoption. Potential adopters are thoroughly screened to ensure that the rabbits will be entering safe and happy environments.

Every potential adopter must fill out an application at http://www.newmoonrabbitrescue.ca/adoptions/adoption_application.php. You will receive a phone call within a few days to discuss your application. Please note that all adopters must be approved before visiting the rabbits in their foster homes.

Our adoption policies state that we do not adopt to children, however we do adopt to families with children in which children may aid parents in caring for the rabbit. New Moon rabbits are adopted out as house pets only and are not to be housed outdoors. There will be NO exceptions to either of these strict policies.

Our adoption fee for a single rabbit is $85 and is a donation to help with medical expenses. The fee for an already bonded pair is $130. Each rabbit goes home with their favourite toy(s). Please note that our adoption fee is strictly a donation and is as such, non-refundable. We are wiling to adopt outside of our area, but you must be willing to pick up your new friend.
