Happy Endings (page 2)
I adopted 2 cats last year from you guys. I love both of them. I adopted
"Brownie" which her name was changed to "Fatty". The other cat that I adopted
is "Amber" and she has been such a sweet cat and really likes her food. Both
cats are doing well and are very spoiled.
Toby
Hello folks, As I was cleaning off our kitchen counters I "unburied" pictures of Toby I set aside to send to you. The date on them indicates he was with us just under 2 weeks. He hadn't been trained with our invisible fence then, but is an ol' pro now. Even when he sees the deer in the next yard, he knows exactly how far he can go. I included a picture which shows the "lighter" side of Toby. The one where he is holding 2 toys at once. We had to hide the toy basket as he would stuff multiple toys at once in his mouth. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you - Patty Bleier Lady
is doing so well in her new home. She loves to play with Hennessy
and the kids. She is such a sweet girl and we are thrilled to
have her as part of our family. Thanks so much for the chance to
love this wonderful animal.
![]() Chica
This little cutie-pie came to our shelter as a very sick little girl. As you can see from the pictures, she is now doing wonderful with her loving family. What a nice "Happy Ending"! ![]() One of our Kennel Workers adopted Angel. She is now living in Long Island. What a gorgeous girl!
![]() Here
are some "Happy Ending" photos of the double-pawed orange tabby we
adopted in November from the Vestal Pet Smart. His name was
Friday, but we renamed him Harry. Harry gets along wiith our
orange male cat, plays with our brown mackerel tabby, and
diplomatically avoids our other two unsociable lady cats. He has
no fear of our yellow lab and has no bad habits. He loves to
snuggle on the couch at night and play with his kitty toys. He is
just the best little boy! We are so happy Harry came to live with us.
The Watkins Family ![]() Roofis
(February 2007) Everyone that knew Roofis during his time at the shelter will surely be excited to see how great his life is now (Roofis is the dog). He was a cruelty case of ours, abandoned in an apartment, skin and bones and he had mange and had lost all his hair. He was with us for a while getting the proper care he needed and then this family adopted him and nursed him back to good health. We don't know who's luckier... Roofis or his loving family. Good luck, Roofis! ![]() Rocky and Carmel
(February 2007) Hi Staff at the Society;
I wanted to drop you a line or two as an update to
the happy lives of Rocky and Carmel. They have completely acclimated to their
new home and are doing great. They have proven to be the best selection for
adoption we could ever have made. Keeping them together was a very wise decision
on your part. They are inseparable. I and Joe are most greatful for the
wonderful attention and support you provided to both us and the pups. I've
attached a couple of pictures for you. I don't know if you can see the smile on
their faces. Our sincere thanks to all of you for your committment and the
wonderful work you do.
With our thanks, Joel, Joseph, Rocky and
Carmel

(February 2007) Hello everybody! Itchy and Lily would like to send
you some photos. More to follow. This was taken a while back. Bell is her name
now. She is getting too big for the couch now, so we are TRYING to keep her from
being a lap dog. haha.
Thanks again to all! Pat
Back to top of page Kindu
(January 2007) Sometimes... you just know. That's the case with Kindu's new owners. While searching on our favorite site, petfinder.com, for a new dog... they spotted Kindu's picture and bio... and they "just knew" he was perfect. They contacted our shelter and let us know that Kindu was perfect for their family... currently residing in New Jersey. That's right... they lived in Jersey. This family traveled hours just to come and get this special shelter dog. Kindu will be forever grateful to the services of petfinder.com for it's ability to reach people in other towns, counties, and heck... even other states! Congrats to both Kindu and his Forever Family... fate seems to have played a role in this love connection. ![]() Back to top of page Tiger Lilly (she's the cat!)
(January 2007) It takes just one look at this picture to answer yes to the age old question, "Can cats and dogs really get along?" YES! Congratulations to Tiger Lilly on finding one heck of a bodygaurd team and the extremely large window that every cat dreams of having someday. It looks like Tiger Lilly's more content to just sit and love her doggies than look out the window at this point... and we can't blame her. Congrats Tiger Lilly! ![]() Patches
(December 2006) The following is a letter we received at the shelter from a very happy "Forever Family". They adopted one of our oldest dogs...17-years-old!! That's 139 in "people years"!! Please read their "Happy Ending" letter below; Remember Patches, age 17? We adopted her (and she adopted us) a few months ago, and she is still healthy and strong. She is our special Christmas Angel and we love her! Thank you for all your hard work and care. Sincerely, Kim, Dave, and Patches Cooper and Amisi (Tom and Cricket)
(December 2006) My husband and I adopted Cooper (Tom) to keep our young lab, Mieka, company. They became fast friends and we thought we were done... a dog and a cat... perfect! Then we decided to adopt a kitten as a Christmas present for my mother-in-law. We went to the Humane Society and adopted Amisi (Cricket). Not wanting to give the present early, we kept Amisi at our house for five days. That was it. Amisi quickly became one of the family and we suddenly couldn't imagine life without her! Every day's a blast with our 8-month-old puppy, 4-month-old AND 3-month-old kittens. We literally laugh from the time we get up to the time we go to bed. It's impossible to be sad with these three comedians around! I will NEVER get an animal anywhere but a shelter. Shelter animals know what it's like to sit in a cage and be without a family, and they are forever grateful and satisfied when they do finally meet their "Forever Family". Thanks SO MUCH to the Humane Society for taking care of these two until they found their way to us... we love 'em! ![]() ![]() Katie (December 2006) Katie was in our shelter for almost a year!! She arrived on Feb 16, 2005, and
sat in a cage waiting for her perfect owner for quite a long time.
Katie was always on her best behavior. She enjoyed rides in
the car the most (probably because it facsinated her to see the outside
world fly by!). In her time at the shelter, Katie had many people
become very attached to her, and they are all very happy to see her
finally listed under the "Happy Endings" section of our website.
Jake (December 2006)
I am soooo spoiled, way more than the kids are...thank you for
taking such good care of me at the Humane Society in Binghamton
so that I could end up here! I am living in Pennsylvania but whenever there is a snowstorm I absolutely love it, revealing my Binghamton roots. Buddy (December 2006) Hi This is Amy and Mark, Just wanted to let you know he is doing great and is getting along with Simon a lot better. Thanks, he is a great dog... ![]() Simba (Bird-Dog) (Please click on pictures to see larger picture) (April 2006) I adopted Simba in January (his name has changed to Bird-dog.) He is so great! He loves to play all the time, so I have included a photo of him in action. Bird-dog gets along beautifully with my other cat and they have became fast friends. He loves boxes, feathers, paper bags, and catnip. He's always attempting to steal food off my plate - especially fish. He is fun and affectionate and quite possibly the most best cat EVER! I love him dearly, he's perfect. Thank you! Sincerely, Stacy (March, 2006) Hello, I thought everyone would want to know about BIZZER AKA (Airabella) and how she is getting along in her new home. Well, she has her own boy - he is 9 years old; she has a best friend - a 2 year old German Shorthaired pointer, and a new Mom and Dad who love everything she does. We couldn't be more pleased with our new dog, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Bizzer thanks you too. Please see Bizzer in front of the fireplace. All the best. Linda and family. (March 2006) I thought you would all like an update on Diesel; he is doing so well as you can tell by the pictures! Since we brought him home he gained a lot of weight, and he is so happy here. He has a big run outside, but he don't like the outdoors as much as I thought he would. He is the first dog we ever had as a family, and I would never trade him for the world! We love him so much. It took him a long time to adjust to my 7 year old, but he did. I also noticed he likes men better; I don't know why - but he does. When he knows daddy is coming home he sits on the couch looking out the window. Plus he lives to go for rides; he sits on my son's lap in the truck (he is a big dog), but he seems to think he is a lap dog!!!! Thank you all again for bringing him in to our home. Bobbi-Jean (March 2006 update). Here is a new picture of Naiche (see previous Happy Ending story). (March 2006) We just wanted to let you know how Schnopps is doing in his new home. He has already made friends with our cat. He is a great dog and we are very happy to have him!!! Here are some pictures.... (March 2006). Here is a picture of a very happily adopted dog, Honey, who won a former staff member's heart. (March 2006). "Hi, Mom, I'm glad you're home!" Daisy looks very comfortable in her new home, and happy to claim her place. Lucky Daisy. (March, 2006) "Your recommendation was perfect. On Tuesday, 3-8-06 we drove to Binghamton, got lost in the city, but eventually found the Humane Society. We looked, as we said we would, at Nettie, i.e.now Lilli, and fell in love with her. She sat in my lap for at least a half hour. We put her in her new bed (fiberglass box as in picture) and she settled down and slept most of the way to Utica. Upon arrival, she kept to her box the rest of the day and all night. She was so stressed out that she did not piddle for at least 24 hours. The next day, we held her and encouraged her and she made some progress. Thursday, she was answering to come and came in the house on the 2nd try instead of the 4th. Today, Friday, she was washed and groomed by a professional, see photos. Monday, she goes to Clinton Vet. Hospital for an exam and to schedule her spaying with the voucher. She will also get her teeth cleaned. Enjoy the before and after pictures." Val and Sandy. We're very happy to see that Lilli has a great future filled with love and wonderful care. (February 2006). Talk about cute. Owen looks like he's happily in his new home, and he also has found a new friend (wonder how long that pose lasted!) Good luck, Owen. (February, 2006) Hi there from Sassy!! Just wanted to say I am so happy. Thanks for taking care of me for the short time I was there. I am quite the spunky girl and oh so loveable. I am very loved by my family!! (January, 2006) Home is where the heart (and favorite blanket/pillow is). Scooter looks very happy in her soft, comfortable corner of her new home. If you have adopted an animal from the Humane Society & would like to have it included on our happy endings page, please email us. If you would like to include a photo please send it a long as well. |
