Pet of the month
"Reign"
A Christmas wish for Reign.
All I want for Christmas is a new loving home...
Reign is approximately 18 months old and suffering with an untreated, badly broken right front leg. We have been told that Reign was running loose when at barely three months old, he was hit by a car and both his front legs were run over. The pain and suffering this dog must have endured, and continues to endure is beyond imagination. For reasons we rescuers will never quite understand, Reign did not receive the medical care he desperately needed to repair his painfully broken bones. Literally, within a day or so to spare, Reign was about to be surrendered to a Kill shelter whose management stated they would likely put Reign to sleep since no one would want to adopt him, when a volunteer for Shepherds' Hope Rescue took him in. After much research it has been determined that a surgery by an experienced Orthopedic Veterinarian, costing approximately $4,500.00 will possibly save Reign's leg and end his pain and suffering once and for all.
Despite the huge vet bills Rescue groups incur, we have already received a pledge of $500.00 from a local rescue group and a further $500.00 pledge from a private individual. We can hardly believe it but already the once mammoth task of raising money for reign's surgery actually seems possible!
Please take a moment to look at Reign's happy, trusting face and then look further down his picture as you take in the horrendous sight of his twisted, broken leg. Despite the obvious pain Reign endures on a daily basis, this otherwise, healthy, happy young purebred German Shepherd wants only to love and be loved in return.
