Meet some of our cockers adopted in 2004 from CockerPalsRescue and read their happy tales!

This is Sophie1! Sweet Pea came from a shelter in upstate NY and was taken out of the shelter by a group of wonderful people who worked with the shelter. They then contacted CockerPalsRescue. Sweet Pea was blind from cataracts. She is 3 years old.

CockerPals then held an on line auction to raise money for her cataract surgery. As a result of the auction and donations the money was raised and SP had surgery at Cornell University, on 2/6/04 to remove her cataracts. The wonderful surgeon there donated his fee!

My most endearing picture is taking Sweet Pea into Cornell the first time- she walked in very tentative, head down, feeling her way. When we went back for a check up she strutted in, head held high and happy, confident little girl.

UPDATE 7/16/04 Sweet Pea was adopted!! She lives in CT with her Mom, Darlene, and 3 cocker sisters, Hannah, Mollie and Maya. She is now known as Sophie and is very loved and happy.

This is Morag! Morag's Story

Morag lost her home when her "Dad" passed away and her "Mom" decided to return to Ireland. She is a happy, affectionate, somewhat shy little girl who is getting used to being and "only child" in her new home. Her folks adore her!

This is Susie!
Susie's Story

Susie came to CockerPalsRescue from a shelter. She is an older, deaf cocker who is very sweet. Her ears were the worse this rescue had seen yet. We had hoped with flushing and cleaning that she might have some hearing, but that was not to be. The amount of gunk and dirt that came out of Susie's ears as a result of repeated flushings was amazing.

Susie is incredibly sweet and loving, with the most expressive brown eyes.

July 3, 2004 Susie has been adopted! She has a new mom and dad and 2 wonderful cocker sisters, Emma and Hope. Susie's new family adores her and she was a perfect match! Despite her hearing loss, she is a wonderful, sweet interactive girl. She communicates very well with her eyes, and is quite verbal. She has made herself right at home and her new sisters like having her around. Emma makes sure to wake up Susie in the morning to make sure she knows its time to go outside when she doesn't hear the others getting up.

Ebony is a long tailed black cocker girl who came into rescue because her family didn't have the means to meet her needs. CockerPals had her cherry eye fixed, had her spayed and brought up-to -date- on shots. She is very shy with new people but a total love when she knows you. Her Mom reports that she is doing well in her new home.
