Capio's Happy Tail!

Capio’s Happy Tail is an unusual one. Capio has a home! But the twist here is that Capio was reunited with his orginal owner.

Capio came to PALS on 9/26/06 from a Pittsburgh shelter where he was an owner turn-in for unknown reasons. On 2/21/07 PALS received a phone call from a woman who said she was searching the internet for cockers and found Capio. She said he was her dog! She went on to explain that she fell on hard times and had to find a place for her dogs. After visiting this woman and her kids several times she gave Capio to a family along with her contact information in case it didn’t work out. We don’t know what happen but Capio ended up in the Pittsburgh shelter and would have been put to sleep if not for the timely intervention of Cocker Angels Director, Joie Hall. Joie had made arrangements to get another 10 year old and Capio ( who was on death row) was the throw in. Joie transported Capio to CockerPals and he has been waiting patiently for his new home.

We were all very excited about the phone call from his original owner. We learned that Capio was short for Cappucino not Leonardo DiCaprio!

On 2/24/07 Capio's journey was complete when Joie transported Capio back to his Mom. The reunion was something to see! Mom called out his name, Cappucino, and Capio went nuts pulling wildly to get to her. He practically jumped into her arms, ran excited circles and was doing the happy dance! There was no doubt that Capio, after a long year, was back where he belonged.
