There was no way we could resist this precious little girl and agreed to take Simone right away. Simone has bi-lateral cataracts and was examined at Cornell to see if she is a candidate for cataract surgery. Simone was not a candidate and the decision was made to remove the eye.

Taernan's Story

Taernan is a little red and white parti boy who was turned into a shelter by his family for reasons unknown. He was subsequently adopted by a family with a young child. One thing led to another and he nipped the child and one of her little friends. The parents all felt it was not his fault at all but were very inexperienced with dogs of any breed and decided they could not keep him. They returned him to the shelter in Westerly, RI after which the mother got in touch with a RI cocker rescue and begged them to get him out of the shelter as she had heard that he was going to be put to sleep. The recuer in turn pulled him and got him into a foster home. From there, the foster mother found a person to adopt him but it didin't work out as he nipped a few more people. He was returned to the foster Mom as a failed adoption. She has had him since Thanksgiving when he was returned to her care. She has grown to love him and he loves her as well. Taernan was adopted by his foster Mama on May 10, 2006 to join his two cocker brothers and one cocker sister. Oh, and he hasn't nipped ANYONE since he returned to us.

Nathan & his new family

Nathan, about 4-years old, was picked up as a stray, underweight, severely matted and flea infested. He gained weight in his foster home, to fill out his taller than average cocker frame, and to let his beauty shine through! Nathan is a sweet natured, gentle, loving boy, but also very skittish and timid. We felt he should not be placed in a home with small children, as he needed a calmer environment and patient owners to help overcome his fears and build confidence. He has found that with his new Mom and Dad, cocker brother Rusty, and his human siblings. Nathan and Rusty go on walks every night, and often get to run along side the canal. His Mom made a special place next to Rusty's chair to gaze out the window, a favorite past time of both dogs.

Nathan was adopted August 2006
