The
Power Of A Loving Touch

The Legacy of "Mr. Salomon"
Our "Mr. Salomon" (AKA Sully) became one of God's Angels at
the Rainbow Bridge on December 9, 2007.
Sully came to Loving Touch in March 2007, having been abandoned by his
family. His fate would have been sealed if a kind volunteer at the AC&C
had not gotten the word out about this gentle, dignified, senior pet.
Over the next several months, Mr. Salomon was challenged physically with
diagnosis after diagnosis that would have most certainly been the demise
of any other dog. But not our Sully. He smiled every day and showed us
what dignity, perseverance, and unconditional love was all about. He went
for picnics and walks in the park, was the guest of honor at fundraising
events, hobnobbed with celebrities, and made the most of every day he
shared with us.
Two types of cancer and severe arthritis may have ravaged his body but
no disease could dampen his spirit. Sully fought the good fight and continued
to enrich the lives of those he met on a daily basis.
On December 1, 2007, while attending a
"Pet Photos with Santa" Fundraising event, Sully asked Santa
to give him a forever family for Christmas. Later that same day, Santa
granted Sully's wish. Phil, Cathy and Zulma officially adopted Sully.
(Cathy nicknamed him "SullyMan").
Sully knew that he had received the best gift ever; a family who truly
loved him for all that he was and would stand by him no matter what!
Just eight days later, Mr. Salomon succumbed to pneumonia.
Phil and Cathy were by his side as he took his final breath. Through a
river of tears they kissed Sully goodbye, for now.
Sully understood the power of a "LOVING TOUCH"
and, thanks to you, Mr. Salomon,
.. so do we.
