We are always in need of temporary foster homes for cats, kittens, and dogs. Foster homes enable each animal to be given the extra time and care it needs so that it can be comfortably adopted.

Volunteer
The New Rochelle Humane Society welcomes the help and services of volunteers 14 years and older. Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of tasks. Time commitments can range from a few hours per week to as much time as you have available.

- Adult Volunteering
To become an adult volunteer (18 years and older), simply fill out our adult volunteer form and return it to our shelter. You will then need to attend a volunteer orientation, which is held at our shelter once a month. The orientation is about one and a half hours long and will provide you with an introduction to our volunteer program. If you would like more information, please contact us at petadopt@verizon.net and we will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Note: We prefer that you summit a volunteer application prior to the orientation date. Applications can be faxed, brought in person or mailed.

- Junior Volunteering
Teenagers 14 to 17 years of age are welcome to participate in our junior volunteer program. To become a junior volunteer, you must full out our junior volunteer form, have it signed by a parent or guardian and return it to our shelter. You will then need to attend a junior volunteer orientation, which is held at our shelter once a month. The orientation is about an hour long and will provide you with an introduction to our junior volunteer program. Parents do not need to be in attendance, although the signed volunteer form must be brought to the orientation. If you would like more information, please contact us at petadopt@verizon.net and we will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
