FOCCAS CANINE RELOCATION POLICIES & FEE SCHEDULE

FOCCAS Relocation Policies:
  1. Friends of the City-County Animal Shelter feels strongly that all companion animals, including dogs, should be sterilized (spayed or neutered) and fully vaccinated (rabies, canine parvovirus, DHLPP and boardatella).  We feel it is incumbent on responsible owners to provide these medical services for their pets.  Therefore, we must ask that any dog being considered for relocation by our organization meet these requirements.  Owner must provide current veterinary records to support sterilization & vaccination status.
  2. For the safety of those persons considering adoption of any dog and for the safety of our volunteers and kennel staff, FOCCAS cannot relocate any dog that exhibits or has a history of biting.
  3. We also must ask our surrendering clients to be completely honest regarding their dog's behavior.  Some negative traits will not necessarily eliminate a dog's chances for relocation.
  4. We evaluate each dog individually.  If, however, we learn that a surrendering client has knowingly mislead us about their dog, we will immediately terminate any relocation contract with have executed with the client.  If, at that time FOCCAS has custody of the client's dog, we will immediately return the dog to the client.  If the client is not available and the dog is a danger to our volunteers, kennel staff or other animals, we may be forced to euthanize the dog.
