Criteria for Organizations wishing to participate in Helping Hands 4 Paws, Inc.

There is no fee for Shelters and Rescue to become an Affiliate of HH4P, Inc. All Organizations must complete an application as part of our screening process. After you submit your application it will be review by HH4P volunteers and an on site interview will also be scheduled before any applications will be approved.

Organizations accepting animals through HH4P, Inc.
|
- Should have an written application & interview process for all adoptions, Rescue groups must also do home visits. Preference will be given to those that provide post adoption follow up.
- Need to be able to humanely provide for the animals in their care including Vet care and socialization.
- Need to have to have animals spayed/neutered prior to adoption or provide follow up to ensure all animals adopted are spayed or neutered by the time they are 6 months old or with in a month of adoption.
- Are willing to accept animals back if the adopting family does not want them any more. Euthanize is only done for medical reasons, when it is in the animals best interest.
- Have a primary contact with in your organization to to work with HH4P volunteers and releasing shelters to make sure good communication is kept at all stages of the rescue effort.

Organization releasing animals to HH4P, Inc. should:

- Provide accurate information about the animals they are releasing.
- Provide basic medical care for the animals or in some cased be willing to take them to the Vet for medical care.
- Have Facilities and procedures in place that minimize the transmission of contagious diseases within the shelter.
- Be willing to hold animals released to HH4P for a reasonable amount of time so transport can be arranged.
- Have a primary contact person within your organization who is willing to work with HH4P volunteers and accepting shelters to make sure good communication is kept at all stages of the rescue effort.
