Featured Pets

Featured Dog

Featured dogs... Jake & Kaboodle

Small, 6-yr.-old black lab "Jake" and 5-yr.-old Australian Shepherd Mix "Kaboodle" do everything together --- they sleep curled up tight, and even hike, swim, and go camping. Amazing, because Kaboodle is blind! But that hasn't held him back at all! He finds his way around wonderfully, sometimes using Jake's scent to help him.

Both dogs are very sweet, affectionate, active, and playful. They love life, and everyone in it --- even cats! They are obedient, housebroken, neutered, and up to date on shots. The owner's breathing problems required him to give up these great dogs, which broke his heart. These sweet boys will bombard you with love and make you feel warm and fuzzy all over!

Please be a hero and give them a chance!!!

Featured Dog

Featured dog... Sweetie

Three of the West Jersey volunteers pulled Sweetie out of a crowded Philadelphia shelter. Because Sweetie is quiet and didnt bring attention to herself, she was passed by at the shelter. The shelter workers all knew it, but the adopters didnt realize what a wonderful companion she would be.

Sweetie walks WONDERFULLY on the leash, greets everyone gently with her tail wagging, and really likes other dogs. There seems to be an innocence about her, and you wont believe the beauty of her eyes which are an unusual hazel color with black outlining to really show them off.

Sweetie is housebroken, spayed, up-to-date on shots, and tested negative for heartworm and lyme disease. She would do best in a home with no cats. She is all ready to go to a new loving home where she will live up to her name and be a fantastic companion for the whole family!

Featured Cat

Featured cat... Blaze

Blaze has the right name, because his gorgeous luxurious long coat looks like a ball of fire or a beam of sunlight during sunset. With his plume tail and his regal attitude, he is really a majestic animal.

Sadly, this poor fellow was robbed of some of his splendor when he became very sick with an upper respiratory infection at a local animal shelter. The infection is completely healed now but it damaged his eyes. His vision is very good but his eyes look a little cloudy and weep occasionally so they must be cleaned from time to time.

The effort is well worth it because he is such a great companion. He is an excellent lap cat, almost dog-like sometimes. He is laid-back and is used to living with dogs. He would do best in a home with no small children, since he sometimes has a "hissy fit" if he is upset. He would be a great friend to a mature person looking for companionship.

Blaze is neutered, up-to-date on shots and housebroken. He is currently in a foster home with one of our volunteers.

Adopting this cat will allow the foster mom to take in another that needs help.

Featured Cat

Featured cat... Gizmo

Gizmo has grown up in foster care with his four brothers and sisters and he is the only one left still looking for a permanent home. He is about 8 months-old and must be adopted to a home with at least one other cat-friendly cat or a friendly dog. He is a playful lap cat with a sweet temperament who loves to snuggle up with other cats.

He has tested negative for AIDS/Leukemia. up-to-date on shots and neutered.
