CCSPCA 2009 DOG OF THE YEAR?

SANTINO

You would never know by looking at this handsome, devilish character that he was a nine pound cruelty case at our local shelter.  Santino is a two year old Pug that was completely emaciated and sporting some scars.  He had been living outside in the harsh winter weather.  I met him while I was volunteering and his condition broke my heart.  Santino was taken from his previous owner.  He now spends long hours reenacting Lewis and Clark type adventures in his large fenced yard.  Santino simply adores his three new Pug siblings.  He even loves the cat but the feeling is not mutual.  Santino has a comical hippity hop that he does when he is excited, which is nearly every minute of every day.  He has boundless energy, boundless love, and is very smart.  He brings nothing but pure joy to my house, my heart, and everyone he meets.
