CCSPCA 2009 DOG OF THE YEAR?

MAX

"I was volunteering at the SPCA and noticed this one large dog, named Max. He was hiding in the corner of the kennel looking very sad and withdrawn. Apparently, he came from a home where he was abandoned and left alone. People were talking to him, offering him treats and there was no interest. After observing him for awhile, I decided to go into the kennel and offer my friendship, along with a few treats of course! At first, I thought oh my gosh, this dog is so big and yet that day he looked so small and timid. I sat in the kennel and waited about 10 minutes before he decided I must be okay and when he came up to me, he sat on my lap (all 130 lbs. of him) and gave me the biggest, wettest kiss ever! In that moment, that sad timid dog found his best friend and new mommie......me! I adopted Max and I assure him every day that he will never be abandoned and alone ever again and I even adopted a play mate for him, his cutie pit bull friend, named Zoey. They are inseparable and touch my heart, and each others, every single day and I still get those big, wet kisses too!"
