How To Become a Foster Home or Volunteer

Since we have no shelter, PAN relies on foster homes to house animals until they can be adopted. If you are interested, a Pet Adoption Network representative would meet with you at your home to discuss the process. Foster cats or kittens need a place to be segregated from your personal cats (such as a spare room, garage, basement, sun porch, etc.). PAN can also provide crates and cages. For dogs and puppies, we prefer that foster homes have a fenced yard and a lot of dog experience. The foster home gets to choose what type of animal and how often to foster. Pet Adoption Network provides all vet care, supplies, and food.

PAN prefers foster homes in Monmouth County, NJ, preferably within 10 miles of Red Bank.

What if I am interested volunteering but can't provide foster care? Since PAN doesn't have a shelter, we don't always have steady volunteer opportunities for people who can't take animals into their homes. However, we do expect to have a need for dog lovers with a lot of experience, within the next few months - late spring/summer of 2007 for a special project we are working on. What if I already rescue animals on my own and am interested in becoming a member of PAN? New PAN members must be approved by the Board of Directors. If approved, you become an associate member. At some later point in time, you may become a voting member. Dues are $5 annually. PAN membership entitles you to post animals on our web site, attend our adoption events with your foster animals, use the group's adoption contract and equipment, and for active members, you can use our discount for spaying, neutering and vet care and/or receive financial assistance for rescued animals.
