Dear Maggi, Cathy, and Gilda:

I am saddened to tell you that my Simon (formerly Newton to all of you) died in my arms on Saturday evening. He had been acting fine, playing lots, and being the sweet cat he always was, although I noticed that he was tiring more after being active and breathing heavily. That evening he appeared to be in distress and started to throw up. I picked him up and held him on the bed because I would see that his mouth was open and he was trying to breathe. After several minutes, he had several episodes of writhing in pain and gasping and he died in my arms. Since my vet was not there are the time, I took him to AESSJ in Mt. Laurel, an emergency animal service, and they will arrange for a private cremation for him so I can have his ashes. I know you all played an important part in that little boy's short life, and I thank you all. I think I will have many more tears to shed over him for a long time. He was a sweet, affectionate and playfull kitty that will be in my heart forever. I called him my "Sweet Simon Blue Eyes" and am very grateful to have had him in my life, although the time was much, much too short. I hope you are all well. I am so impressed by all the kitties that have been adopted by Purrfect Feline Friends.
