EIGHT LIVES LEFT, FOWA SEEKS HOME
It is said that cats have nine lives. Gilligan’s tale began Dec. 23, 2006, when he was brought into the care of Friends of Wayne Animals. This tender-hearted black and white cat with piercing yellow/green eyes was abandoned in a home on Riverside for about a one month, living only on water. Approximately about 2 years old then, extremely underweight and malnourished, FOWA decided to name him Gilligan.
He stayed at local veterinarian’s office until Jan. 9, 2007, where he was given proper medical treatment and his his food and water was monitored. When he got back into FOWA’s care, volunteers gave Gilligan extra loving and nurturing to help him overcome his ordeal. Soon, once again he was running around, playing, and showing off his serene disposition.
With now only eight lives left, Gilligan still has not found a permanent home and he lives in foster care with other cats. Gilligan is neutered, vaccinated, negative for FELV and FIV. Volunteer Linda Wade said, “Gilligan needs a gentle home with a loving heart. Gilligan is one of the most affectionate cats with a personality to match and gets along well with other animals. Just one look at him and you would fall instantly in love with this sweet-tempered little prince.”
