Cinnaminson, New Jersey
(Rain date: Sunday, June 7, 2008)
Cost: $7/ person or $20 for familes of three or more.
Delaware Valley Bichon Rescue's 11th annual rescue
reunion is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2009 with a raindate
of Sunday, June 7. This year due to financial constraints being
experienced by the rescue, we are forced to charge guests a very
small "entrance fee". This is common practice among many
other rescues but we have been able to avoid this in past years.
Unfortunately, the rescue cannot absorb 100% of the costs involved
in hosting an event such as this one any longer. The entrance fee
is $7.00 per person with a maximum of $20.00 for parties of three
or more. The entrance fee MUST be paid in advance, using either
Paypal,
a personal check made payable to DVBR, OR our
Facebook donation link. Personal checks should be made out to
DVBR and mailed to: P.O. Box 2411, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077. Entry
fees can also be paid via Paypal or Facebook by following those
links. This small entry fee will help us offset the various costs
involved in hosting an event such as this one.
If you are interested in attending the picnic, please click on the
sign-up link and fill in the sign-up form. Then make your donation
to cover your entry fee. AFTER we have received your entry fee we
will post your sign-up information on our guest list, as usual.
We will not be collecting entry fees on picnic day - these
fees must be paid in advance in order for you to be included on
our picnic guest list. Please note that unfortunately,
entry fees are not refundable, so if you do not
attend the picnic for any reason, please consider your entry fee
a donation to the rescue. This year we will be cutting off registration
one week prior to the date of the picnic, so all sign-ups and entry
fees must be received by Sunday, May 31st if you
would like to attend this year's reunion.
The following events are currently planned for this year's picnic.
As always, we need organizers to help with these events. If you
would be interested in organizing one of these events, or assisting
one of our event organizers as a helper, please note your interest
on the sign-up page. We hope to include the following events during
this year's reunion, but can only do so if we have volunteers willing
to run these events:
* Silent auction/raffle
* 50/50 raffle
* Costume contest
* Bichon games
* Yankee Swap
Again, if you would be willing to act as organizer or helper for
any of the events listed above, please note that when you sign up
and we will contact you right away!
Guests should bring a dish to share, such as a main dish, side dish,
salad, dessert or other item. This should be similar to something
you would bring to a family gathering - enough to serve perhaps
15 to 20 people. We always have more than enough food. Please bring
these items in a disposable dish. If your dish is NOT disposable,
please bring it home with you when you leave. We cannot be responsible
for keeping track of which dishes and utensils belong to which guests.
Also, please bring comfortable chairs to sit on. We will have extras
but if you have lawn chairs you should bring them along. Only spayed/neutered
dogs are welcome to attend the picnic. If you have an unspayed or
unneutered pet, please leave him or her at home.
Hope to see you all at the picnic!!!
Planned events include:
- Spare Change Collection
- 50/50 Raffle
- Swimming! (bring a bathing suit & towel, weather permitting)
- And more, pending volunteer availability
THIRD YEAR!!! This
year DVBR is once again asking that picnic guests start saving their
spare change. This is a PAINLESS way to donate money to the rescue.
All donations will go to help pay veterinary expenses for the dogs
in our care. If you are willing to participate in this fundraising
effort, pls. start saving your spare change NOW. On picnic day we
will have a large water-cooler type bottle located in a prominent
area where everyone can watch their donations grow! Last year we
raised nearly $100 in this way. That may not sound a lot, but when
you consider that it represents just a few coins from each family,
it's actually pretty impressive. At least we think so! $100 can
pay for shots, a heartworm test and a check-up for one dog. It can
also help pay for one neutering. $100 can purchase two large, 30-pound
bags of special diet dog food such as C/D (for dogs with bladder
stones) or W/D (for dogs with diabetes). Every little bit helps!
Start saving your pennies & other coins now to participate in
this great effort! You'll barely miss them, but they'll make a BIG
difference to a needy dog! |
