People For Animals works to help homeless dogs and cats find new, forever homes.
Once an animal joins our organization it has a safe place to stay until it can
be rehomed. Because PFA has no shelter facility, our dogs must stay in private
kennels. Most of the cats reside in foster homes. The cost of kenneling a dog
is approximately $15 per day. Several of our dogs are difficult placements and
have been living in the kennels for extended periods of time. The funding it
take to kennel these dogs limits PFA's ability to help other needy dogs.
The Dog Days Club allow you, the public, to sponsor one (or more) of our long-term
residents. You may choose to sponsor one day per month for a donation of $15
and are certainly welcome to sponsor more than one day. Once you join the program
you will be sent a picture of your dog and his or her history. As the program
progresses, you will receive periodic updates on your dog.
We don't want to forget our feline friends in foster care. While they do not
have the overhead costs of kenneling, many of our long-term cats have special
medical or behavioral issues that add to the normal feeding and general care
expenses. If you would prefer to help out with sponsoring a cat, a $10 per month
donation will allow you to join the Club. As with dog sponsors, you will receive
a photo of your pet, its history and periodic updates.
The following is a list of our long timers. You may select a specific animal
or one will be assigned to you.
