Founded in 1980, People for Animals, Inc. is a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to ending animal suffering. We were chosen by the State of New Jersey to participate in a pilot program to reduce animal overpopulation, and in 1985, opened the first Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic of its kind in this State. Over 6,000 spay and neuter surgeries are performed in our clinic yearly, thus preventing the birth of thousands of unwanted dogs and cats. In addition, we are the recipient of several grants from several prestigious foundations.
The other service that we provide is a Pet Rescue and Adoption
Program. This Program, staffed by volunteers, provides medical care, food and
shelter to rescued stray and abandoned animals until permanent, loving homes
can be found. Adoption Days are held every week
at a variety of locations.
With your support, we will continue the following programs and services:
Humane Education - through presentations by speakers and distribution of literature, we promote responsible pet ownership which includes kindness to animals and the importance of spaying and neutering.
Foster Homes - we maintain a network of foster homes for animals awaiting adoption.
Pet Therapy - volunteers and their pets visit nursing homes on a regular basis, bringing pleasure and comfort to the residents.
Newsletter - we distribute a newsletter informing our readers of PFA fundraisers, activities, animals awaiting adoption and other animal related issues.
Referral Line - we maintain a 24-hour referral line to deal with questions and problems relating to animal care, activities, adoptions, lost animals etc.
Fundraisers - we hold several fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds for our Pet Rescue and Adoption Program.
If you are saddened by the horrible consequences of animal overpopulation, please join us in our efforts to end this suffering. We are always in need of volunteers, donors, and members.
THANK YOU!
