Who We Are

The Hunterdon County SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the urgent and critical needs of the animals in Hunterdon County.

Our shelter serves as the only refuge for stray, sick, abandoned, or abused animals in the county. We have a no-kill policy and are devoted to giving the animals at the shelter plenty of attention, exercise, and care while they are with us, and ensuring they go to loving homes when they leave.

In addition to sheltering and protecting animals, we also act as a clearing house for thousands of telephone calls requesting information on animal-related questions or problems. We also conduct humane education programs and provide pet therapy programs.

Adopting a friend

The animals at the shelter are available to become loving members of your family. Adopters are eligible to have their new pet spayed or neutered at a low cost. Adopted dogs automatically receive a Home Again microchip, which will help you to find your new pet if he or she should ever get lost. Adopters also receive reduced rates from local dog trainers. Please, do NOT decide on a whim to add a pet to your household, it only results in heartache...for the pet who has come to love you.
