The Humane Society of the United States reports that in 6 years, one male and one female dog and their offspring can produce 67,000 dogs. In 7 years, one male and one female cat and their offspring can produce 420,000 cats. Although our Cleveland County Humane Society (CCHS) shelter took in over 250 fortunate animals last year, at the same time approximately 10,000 dogs and cats were euthanized at the Cleveland County Animal Shelter. Please spay and neuter your pets... there just aren't enough homes for them all.
