Our Mission Statement

TO OPERATE A CATS ONLY, NO KILL, ADOPTION CENTER AND SANCTUARY IN JACKSON COUNTY WHICH WILL ACCOMPLISH THE FOLLOWING, WITH SPACE AVAILABLE LIMITATIONS.

1- Prevent feline disease in the community by accepting adoptable  cats and taking them to a veterinarian where they are tested for feline leukemia, given rabies vaccination, and other age-appropriate  immunizations, spayed or neutered ,and given a physical examination.

2- Save the county money by taking healthy adoptable cats  scheduled for, possible, euthanasia due to lack of space at the  local animal control shelter.

3- Assist people who must give up loved pet by taking and caring for there cats until a good home can be found, providing peace of mind and avoiding possible euthanization.

4- Provide community education related to feline issues through  writing in local news media, Lecturing to interested groups, providing answers on phone calls and giving personal interviews and  advice.

5- Help meet the emotional needs of nursing home patients by providing de-clawed cats when requested by the manager of said homes. Several cats have been adopted to local nursing homes and  assisted living facilities.

6- Provide, or help find, financial aid for needy people to help with the cost of spay or neuter of cats they are willing and able to support

7- Provide sanctuary to cats accepted until suitable homes can be found.

8- maintain quality care by limiting the number of cats cared for  to the limits of the shelter.

CATMAN 2 believes that cats should be sheltered separately  from dogs. Sheltered cats undergo less stress when they are not  subjected to dogs barking, and because cats are not noisy the  shelter can be located within a residential area where they can more easily be visited and adopted

For added protection all adoptions are monitored and a full refund of adoption fees is offered should problems arise.
