We got Kary in July of 2010 and our son Chris was adopted by KoKo - now renamed Shen-Shen - in May of 2011.  Both are very happy in their new homes and have their owners firmly wrapped around their paws.  - the Hamlet Family

This is my fabulous kitty, Spike.  I adopted him in 2008 and he's a total lover.  I love him like crazy!!! - Maggie

This is Benjamin aka Dolce, adopted in September 2011... He is in his favorite sunny sleeping place here and has adjusted well. We are loving and spoiling him to death! :) Thank you for a great experience with CatMan2! - Beth

This is Shooster (shelter name Shorty) & Simon (shelter name Simon), hence the mandatory "Simon & Shooster" adopted Jan. 2010. They were in the same room and got along. They have a great time together at our home at Lake Keowee, SC and they loves warm sheets!  We now think they should have been Bubba & Skeeter - Simon loves to sleep. - the Madill family

This is Sammy (Siamese) and Lex (orange) and Delilah (black). I adopted Lex in 2007 and Sammy & Delilah in 2008. Lex was scared to death of the other cats in the shelter and stayed in a cage so I had to take him. He stayed in a bedroom with the door open in our house for 3 months before emerging as the Alpha Cat. Sammy & Delilah were rescued from JCAS during a time where there was mass euthanasia - Harold saved the two kittens and one of the other volunteers socialized them. I took them so that they wouldn't be seperated. Lex & Sammy are very bonded now, as you can see by their crossed tails.  Delilah is the smartest of all my cats. She and Sammy are still very bonded. Delilah tolerates Lex pretty well. She likes to get up in your face and breathe your air :)  We love them all so much.  - Sherry (one of Catman2's most dedicated volunteers!!)

We are SO BLESSED to have adopted "Max" (Now Drew) into our home.  Our son named the cat Drew when he found out the breed was a Ragdoll.  Raggedy Andy....Andy is short for Andrew...and Drew is used as a nickname for Andrew.  Drew has gained 10 pounds since we've adopted him.  He spends his day napping, often in our laps, grooming and pretending to be annoyed by our dog Reese (who is also rescued).  Drew will occasionally lower himself to play with Reese for a short while.  I've even found them cuddled together  (and managed to get a picture).  Drew also likes to eat paper.  Now my son can say "My cat ate my homework" and it may be true!  Our house is happier with Drew here.  We are so glad we found him!  - The Coopers

We adopted Flame several years ago. She is a wonderful, sweet kitty. She is 11 years old now. She has severe arthritis in her spine and is only able to get around because of wonderful meds, laser treatments and lots of TLC. She loves my husband and comes to sit on him, just like she used to do with your wife.  Thanks for all you do for the kitties!

Here’s a few photos of Sterling...the beautiful cat you gave us a couple of years ago.  We love him so much...just wanted to thank you again. He has a good life with us and he loves his best friend Jazzy.

We went to the Catman in August, 2010 looking for a cat to adopt.  We wanted a declawed cat so that we could relax without worrying about the furniture. (But we would never have declawed a cat ourselves.)  At the time, there were only two declawed cats on hand.  Fluffy, who you heard about in the Christmas letter and Bryan.  Bryan was a 3 year-old black and silver tabby with handsome markings.  He seemed to be a loner and would hide in a toy TV all day.  We decided that we liked Bryan, but as soon I tried to pet him, he bit me.  I decided that I wanted Bryan anyway, and renamed him Neo, (aka, “The One” from the Matrix).  So, we took Neo home and he disappeared somewhere in the house for 3 days.  He would come out to use the litter box and eat at night, but would be hidden by the time we got up each morning.  After the third day, he finally came out of hiding and when I tried to pet him, he bit me again.  The biting continued off and on for about two months.  Finally, I went to the Catman’s website and printed a picture of a big Calico cat.  I held it in front of Neo and said that if you bite me again, this is your replacement.  It may just be coincidence, but Neo hasn’t bitten us since.  Neo has turned into a loving cat that enjoys sleeping in the sun and curling up in  people’s laps for a nap.  We can hear him running around at night playing with his toys. So, we know he’s pretty active.  He has learned to trust again.  We love him and he is truly “The One” for us.    Thank you so much for all you do - Claire

We adopted a little girl named Snickers back in May.  Renamed Gigi (Gee-gee), she is a very happy, very frisky addition to our family!  With two small children, I knew we'd have to find a cat that was very patient.  Well, she fit in perfectly!  Gigi loves to sleep with us and is more reliable than our alarm clock in the morning.  She's just ready for us to wake up and play!  In fact, we are considering adopting again so that she will have someone to play with.  We love her very much and we're glad that we could provide a loving home.    Sincerely, the Krauss Family

We adopted Sammy in February 2010 when he was 9 months old.  We actually came to Catman with 6 or 7 photos of other cats but Sammy was such a gentle cat who somehow just reached out to us and we had to bring him home.  He's been such a quiet, gentle fellow but he has become much more lively since we adopted another little kitty about 4 months ago, this time from the Haywood Animal Shelter.  The two kitties are a lot like people brothers - sometimes loving and sometimes fighting (play stuff, of course).  The kitties romp around all over the house at time and bring much life into our lives.  - The Damon Family

A former volunteer at the shelter, Natalie adopted Snickers in September 2009.  She tolerates Garbanzo (right), who was originally named Mr. Mustache, then Groucho, well.  Natalie later adopted Garbanzo, who finally found a name he'd answer to.  Garbanzo enjoys walking on his leash.

Haley has done a tremendous job of getting used to our house!  She has explored every inch of the house.  She's been super cuddly.  Haley and our dog have been sitting on the couch together and seem pretty happy together.  Our other cat, Gracie is a little shy but has come up to Haley.  So far, so good!  I think this is definitely going to work out. Thanks again!  - Alyssa & Jacob

Aggie's owners decided they didn't want her and left her at the shelter.  Fortunately her stay was cut short!  Eliana, whose partner Sebastian adopted Silly, also wanted to adopt a cat and she fell in love with Aggie and adopted her in September 2011.  She now gets along well with her new brother and enjoys entertaining her new family with this cute pose!

Eleanor was dumped at a campground with an embedded flea collar she had somehow managed to get her arm stuck through.  After a round of antibiotics for the infection and weeks of waiting, someone fell in love with her.  Alyna, one of our very dedicated volunteers, adopted her in September 2011.  "Ellie" now enjoys playing with her laser pointer and keeping her new mom warm in the cold weather.  And all her fur around her neck and chest has finally grown back!

Dear Catman2,
Thought I would send an update on my new home. My adjustment went perfectly.  Within a few days of arriving here I made friends with my new brother and sisters.  I wasn't sure about the dog at first but as it turns out she really likes me and the other cats.  Now the dog and I sometimes play chase together.  They have a bird inside the house!  She is not very big but she can yell really loud.  I look at her when she screeches but for the most part I ignore her.  My mom even lets me sit in the chair with her when she has the bird out of her cage.
I really like my new brother, Adrian.  He and I are the same age.  We like to wrestle and lots of times I just wash his face for him.
Not only are the cushions on the chairs a great place to sleep but there's a chair right by the front door which means I can greet anyone coming into the house.  You know I like that.
In this picture, I was explaining to my mom that I really needed a treat right then.  She knows better, because we always have lots of food and treats here, but she gave me a treat anyway.  She says it's because she loves me.
Oh yeah.  My new family noticed that I did not respond to the name Porthos and now they call me Porter.  I have been answering to that so I guess the new name is okay with me.
My new family is very happy that I am such a sweet and loving boy.  I have explained to them that is because of the way I was treated at Catman2.  I explained to my family that I brought the love with me from Catman2.  Thanks for saving my life and for giving me a chance with my new family.  They are thrilled with me and I am happy to be here.
Hugs, kisses and purrs,
Porter

Sebastian (pictured with his partner Eliana) adopted Silly the Russian Blue mix from CatMan2 the first week of September.  Silly didn't live up to his name, so he was given an esteemed, educated name - Dr. Cecil Henry Levinworth III, Esquire.  The doctor now has all the attention he could ever want - Eliana has trained him to walk on a leash and Sebastian lets him help out during studying time.  We are so happy to see Dr. Cecil so happy!

Here's an update on Ellie who we adopted in July 2011. She is such a sweetie.  She loves to be with us, look out our many windows, and play with toys.  She is doing very well and loves our daughters.  She follows us everywhere and is so personable and friendly.

Here are Carrot & Leo (now Emmitt & Eugene) - they love feather toys and wrestling.  They are so photogenic and are always doing something funny and adorable.  They were everything we were looking for in a cat. We love them so much!  They are little lovers and we are enjoying them more every day!

When we adopted Chessie, she was 3 pounds.  But after the shots and her last check-up, she now weighs 5 pounds and is spoiled rotten.  She and our dog Scooter get along fine - they play together, sleep together, and she rides on his back.  She is an inside cat but saw the dog go out the doggie door, NOW SHE DOES!  She snuck out and I caught her playing with the flowers on the front deck!  She's a pistol... we just love her.

Albus was adopted from Catman2 in January of 2005 at age 2.  Albus is now 8 years old and 16 pounds.  He is a Florida kitty now and lives with his "brother" Merry, who was also adopted from a shelter.  They are both indoor kitties but get to enjoy the outside enclosed porch where they lay in the sun on lounge chairs.  They have 2 kitty trees, one inside and one on the porch... what a life!

According to Nicole & Michelle Miller who adopted Patches, she is the best cat ever and is living it up at a big beach house with her buddy Tigger.

According to his new owner, Jan Adams, Gus who was adopted in May of 2011 is doing just awesome.  He is having a wonderful time playing with his new toys and friends.
