The JD and Fran Asher Humane Society of Scotland County is located in Laurinburg, the Scotland County Humane Society is a nonprofit shelter run by volunteers who love and care about animals. Our animal rescue is not owned by the city or the county; it is owned by the people of Scotland County. We hope that you can make a big donation: adopt a pet and give your love to an animal in need. All of these will not have a second chance, unless you find room in your heart and your home for one. We have the best buy in the state for pet adoptions.

We house close to 100 dogs-adults and puppies. The adoption fee is only 35 dollars for most of them. Full-blooded dogs are 100 dollars. We house close to 30 cats-adults and kittens. The adoption fee for most cats is 25 dollars, and 50 dollars for full-blooded cats. We will pay for the spay/neuter and the first rabies shots. We have the highest adoption rate in the state. Our hours are 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Saturday, and 2 to 5 P.M. on Sunday.
