Public assistance urgently needed!

The Moncton SPCA is assisting the Elsipogtog First Nations in the round up of the more than 500 stray dogs currently living in and around the community. We are trying to find homes for as many of these dogs as possible.

In an effort to save as many animals as possible,
we are asking the public for assistance in three major areas:

  1. If you are planning on surrendering your dog to the Moncton SPCA we are asking persons to please hold on to their dogs for at least 4 to 6 weeks to help reduce the burden on the shelter.

You can contact the shelter for ideas on how to find a new home for your dog on your own or you can bring in a photo and description to include on our bulletin board. Thank you for your understanding -and remember- every empty cage allows us to save one more life!

  2. We are in desperate need of homes for our dogs. Please come in and give one of our wonderful canines a second chance at happiness.

  3. If you can't give a dog a permanent loving home, please consider becoming part of our foster care network. As a foster parent you provide an animal with a temporary home while he grows up, recovers from an illness or just help reduce the burden on the shelter's resources.

We will have puppies, pregnant mom's and dogs needing behavioural training looking for foster homes.

If you want to help in any way please
contact the shelter at 857-8698 or
by email at mctnspca@nbnet.nb.ca
