Supplies Needed

Supplies Needed for the animals in Puerto Vallarta:

1. FLEA / TICK COLLARS
Walmart in the states has 120 day flea/tick collars for DOGS for under $1.00 (they are called Bansect and are in a beige and turquoise small box). Or ANY drops or products for fleas/ticks.

2. LEASHES (ALL-IN-ONE TYPE) AND COLLARS (fit any size dog)
These can be ordered from Campbell Pet Co. 800-228-6364
Item #201 Collar is $.80 each if you purchase a qty of 100, but less if you buy more. The leashes we seem to get the most use from are the all-in-one type #103 Flat leash with "D" ring. I usually order the rainbow color.If you order 100 the cost is 45cents each = total $45.00.
200 cost 40 cents each and they give an extra 10 free = Total $80.00
Campbell company also has some good ideas and items for trapping dogs and cats.Their website is www.campbellpet.com. They do accept credit cards.

3. TRAPPING DEVICES and ID BANDS
A pole for trapping which has a loop/noose type device. Item #1700 - length of pole determines price.A pole syringe for feral or dangerous dogs which we need badly. The pole syringe is #1100 and costs $75 but of course extra syringes and needles cost extra. I.D. Bands - item #1800 cost $29.95 for 500 plus a special pen.Their website is www.campbellpet.com They do accept credit cards.

4. OUR MAJOR WISH ITEM WOULD BE A MOBILE SPAY/NEUTER VAN

5. CAGES, ETC.
Large (size #400) or ANY size crates for dogs or cats.

6. VET-TYPE SUPPLIES
~Any surgical instruments.
~Suture materials - Dexon or Ethicon size OO absorbable for interior.
~Nylon suture for exterior - thin for cats and heavier for dogs.
~Needles for suturing - various sizes - I think they come in green #24, yellow #20   & black #22.
~butterfly IV for IV bags.
~IV bags.
~Tom cat catheters.
~Iodine for cleaning surgery site on animals.
~syringes insulin type 3 ml cc (type used for kids-blue box)
~Sterile gauze
~sterile cotton
~clorehexidine or disinfectant for instruments.
~glue for suturing (good for feral/street dogs that we can't capture a second time to   remove sutures).
~microscope and slides.
~centrofuge.
~any items which can be used for test for various problems.
~electric cauterizer.
~electric heavy duty clipper and any other grooming devices.
~sterilizer for instruments.
~x-ray machine and accessories.
~surgery tables.
~surgery lights.
~exam tables.
~any type of equipment to outfit the new clinic at the shelter.
~ANY orthopedic equipment including stainless steel pins, etc.

7. MEDICINES
These may not be possible for people to bring.

8. ANIMAL TATTOO MACHINE AND INK
This would help identify animals we have spayed - eliminating the chances of reopening a dog or cat to find out we already spayed them! This has happened a few times already.

feline leukemia
microhematocrit reader card
sedi stain/diff quick stain
test tape for autoclave

10. STAINLESS STEEL DISHES AND ANY OTHER KENNEL-TYPE SUPPLIES YOU CAN THINK OF
