February 18, 2011 - Subject: Re: Laddy Hi Susan, I have given Max his original name back. When I met him at the airport he threw his self at me I was so surprised. We have been inseparable since. When we landed in Seattle I knew I would not get on a flight until 7:25 so I made sure they brought him down to customer service then I took him on a long walk until 5:15 the latest I dared to check him back in & my self. We walked all over the place that is when I realized coach tennis shoes are not made for long walks my calves where sore. Oh well. Then when we got home a 15 min. drive I took him for a walk to relieve his self & you know I believe he loves the snow he ran then came back at me to play then ran again then back to me (I have retractable leash) & he loves eating snow. Then I brought him in the house on the leash to get him used to his new brothers & sisters. He met the big cat nose to nose then ignored him. He met the mean little Chihuahua's & when they snarled at him he ran the other way. He has not mean bone in his body he even lets them steal his bones. :) I brushed him last night & he loves it & acts like a cat. So funny! He likes to sleep in-front of the bedroom door & he checks up on me until I get up so some times I get a wet face from his wet nose. I gave him a bath today & at first he didn't like it then he realized he was getting scrubbed down & he liked that. Then later today we went to the pet shop & bought him his own big food dish, big bag of food, & a seat belt harness this way he can't jump around in the truck but rides on the seat with everyone else. Then tonight we went for a long walk while it was snowing out & he loves to run & grab mouths full of snow & run but he runs back to me to make sure I am ok. He is doing better on not pulling while walking on a leash. When we got home everyone got their own beef bone to chew on. Ok, if I remember right I send the coat, leash, & collar back right? I was looking for a coat today but I have not found the right size yet. I also looked for a dog bed but Costco didn't have the right size so I am looking for those two items. Tomorrow I will bring the paper work to the vet. & arrange a visit with Max. By the way is he micro chipped? I didn't noticed it saying anything in the paper work. My son didn't know what to think of getting a collie & he really likes him. My husband has been pleasantly surprised how good he is. I sure love Max.nnI will take a picture of him. Thanks, Dawn |

December 27 2010 This is our recent adaoption Puffball, we renamed her Snickers. My husband and I got her as a Christmas present for our youngest daughter. Snickers has brought many joyous moments to our lives and is a well needed addition. She absolutely loves playing, especially early in the mornings or late at night, one of her unique traits is that she does not meow, she opens her mouth but nothing comes out. I will definately adopt again from Kootenai Pets for Life when we are ready for our next family addition. Thanks, Paula and daughter Brenna |

Tammie Horsley and Robert Anderson with Sugar & Pork Chop |

January 2010 Hi, my name is "Sugar". I'm a 10 month old black lab. My story was sad because I wasn't wated so I ended up at KPFL. Saturday, January 8th, 2010, my foster pets (I call my new owners my pets) and their black lab "Pork Chop" picked me over everyone else. Since I have been with them I have been pampered and trained with love. I was very afraid of being left again. My foster pets (parents) love me. No matter what, evenwhen I make mistakes. They introduced me to carrots. Boy are they good!. My other favorite treat is V8. I love children. I love "Pork Chop" but I am not sure of other dogs, cause my pets and I were attacked. We weren't hurt just scared. I am a loving happy baby (10 month old black lab). My one prolem is I have separation anxiety and need to be put in a crate when you go somewhere. It is for my safety and the vet said I will grow out of it. "Pork Chop" and I play all the time. Thank you for your time. It's great being a puppy.!. My foster pets love me very much. Sugar |

(From Morey with a little help from Penney)
I am LOVING my new home. Especially the human called Bruce. He dotes on me! He carries me around, cleans up my horked hairballs, fills my food dish, rakes my litter box, and rescues me from the vicious attacks I periodically get from the female cat called Zan. (Man, is she mean, but quite beautiful)
I am currently stretched out on the love seat, which is the spot usually reserved for the one they call Yeti. And, when my internal alarm goes off, I will stretch, yawn and move to the spot on the back of the couch, where the blanket is conveniently placed. That is the place where Maverick usually spends his day. After that I believe I will go cover, the human they call Penney's, computer chair with my lovely cream colored down. I want her to remember me when she is gone during the day. The computer room belongs to the old cranky female cat named Lucky. She is what they call the Alpha Cat. All the other cats respect and fear her, but not me, I just wander right in and plop my cute self down.
There is one thing that would make this home perfect. I wish the other furry tenants liked me. I just can't figure out why they do not. I follow them around, eat out of their bowls, use their bathroom, and I am super nice the the humans. It's a mind bender. Well, until they come around, I am going to continue to make my presence known and follow them until they love me.
MEOW.
Morey the Cat.
Hello, I am Hannah ... I am a volunteer at KPFL, and wanted to share my adoption story.
This is Mayson, his full name is Mayson Dixon Line. He is a 7 year old cocker spaniel. We adopted him a year ago, this month (may). Hence the spelling May-son.
He is our precious baby, and is dearly loved and doted on. He and Jayce (my 4 year old son) are the best of friends.
Mayson's former owners let him off his line on purpose one day, and he was found running down the highway by the Forest Service.
My first day of volunteering, I saw him and knew he had to be ours. He has separation anxiety very badly, so he goes with me everywhere, even to work.
He is truly a blessing, and has brought so much joy and love into our lives. He has finally found his forever home.
Jayce and his buddy Mayson Dixon
Ike was one of our Shelter dogs that found a home in the past. Now he has a new buddy to share his happy home with. What lucky dogs!
Beau was born in our Shelter but he found a nice family who first fostered him and then kept him. He found a nice place to take a nap on a warm summer afternoon.
October 15, 2010 DEAR FAMILY
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FINDING THIS NEW FAMILY FOR ME. THIS IS A VERY GOOD PLACE TO LIVE AND I HAVE ALREADY BECOME PART OF THE PACK.
THEY TREAT ME VERY WELL AND ARE VERY GOOD TO ME. I HAVE MY OWN SAFE PLACE TO STAY WHEN WILLIAM & DEBRA ARE GONE BUT THE BOYS (ZEKE & ZUES) ARE CLOSE BY SO I DONT FEEL ALONE. WHENEVER THEY ARE HOME I GET TO RUN IN THE YARD WITH THE BOYS OR HANG OUT IN THE HOUSE WHICH IS MY FAVORITE TIME.
I LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH AND I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW WELL I WAS TREATED AND HOW MUCH I WAS LOVED. THANK YOU FOR 3 GOOD YEARS.
LOVE, QUEENIE
