Camille
Feb 2005 - March 27, 2008

You were afraid when you first came to the main foster home and would bite and box. You became more trusting and I tool you home in October 2006. I miss how you would run to the refrigerator and wait for your lettuce. I miss you sitting in the living room in the evenings. You are forever in my heart. Susan H.

Chuck
2008

Chuck was the best bunny ever. Joy and Nancy took very good care of him his last days. Nancy had to care for him because he needed special care that I could not give him. Joy and Nancy are such special people. Chuck was found under a truck almost 9 years ago and he has been with us for that long until he went to bunny heaven. I have 3 foster bunnies, and they miss him too (the girls use to like to bug him). I miss chuck more than anything, but am thankful we could give him lots of love over the years.

Skittles
Oct 2005 to Dec 2007

We lost Skittles, our black and white Mini Lop, on Christmas morning in 2007. He was only 2 years old. Skittles was a very special bunny and member of our critter famliy. He was intelligent, active, friendly, and loving. Skittles and his wife, Cadbury, both love to go the rabbit meetings and to meet other rabbits. In the two short years that we had him he brought us a lot of joy and we will never forget him. Skittles and Cadbury loved each other so much and they bonded very quickly so we knew it was love at first sight. We miss him so much but he is at peace now with our other 2 cats Spankster and Misty. I guess they needed him in Heaven to help care for all the other pets we have lost. We will see them all some day again.

Sniff
2006

Sniff was a very special bunny and member of our family.  Everyone that knew her loved her; she was the most popular member of our family.  She was intelligent, active, and friendly.  In the three short years that we had her she brought us a lot of joy, and we will never forget her.  The Hunt Family

Buster
2006

In memory of my "Buster Bunny" whose little heart stopped working Sunday, March 12, 2006. You were my first rabbit, abandoned, thin, missing hair, full of lice, and afraid. Thank you for trusting me and being my funny little man. Thank you for tolerating my ignorance of bunny culture and etiquette. I miss your sweetness, sense of humor, gentleness, beauty, and friendship. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and wish you were here. Dottie Wabbit was devastated and misses you, too. Thank you for bonding with her so she could have a home with bunny love. To me you are the "Best Bunny ever was, ever will be." We love you, Buster! Diann (your mom) and Dottie (your bondmate/wife).

Snookums
2004-2006

I had Snookums since she was a baby, thanks to my daughter. I knew nothing about rabbits but all the entertaining things rabbits do melted my heart. I thought she would be here much longer. Thank you, Snookums, for being you. You left much too soon and will be missed so much. I will see you at the Rainbow Bridge. These precious words can only say you loved me well and are loved by me. I know we will meet again. Susan H

Abigail
12/2005

My love.  I will always remember laying down on my side in the living room; you hopping up to me, stretching out next to me and allowing me the joy of petting you and kissing you for long stretches of time.  I would stroke up your entire face starting with your nose and ending with your ears and you would tooth purr so hard, it sounded like your teeth were coming out of your mouth.  Kelly

Spot
2005

Spot was my third bunny and the sweetest. I was walking my dog and saw him under a tree. He hopped right to me and I scooped him up. It was one month after Easter(2002). He took over my room and my heart. - Cheryl

Trixie
2003

Trixie (on right) here with her bondmate, was one of St. Louis' sanctuary bunnies. A loving rabbit who gave back more than was given to her, she will be missed by all who came to know her.

Yeti
2003

Yeti was one of St. Louis' sanctuary bunnies. She was the queen of the "shelter" and was always the first bunny to be seen. She will be sorely missed by all who spent time at "her" house.

JarJar
2003

Shown here being held by Joy. JarJar was a bunny who traveled to St. Louis educational events. His passing was very difficult, but we are thankful for the opportunity to have known him. He was a very gentle, kind bunny and will be missed dearly.

Bailey
2002

Bondmate to Katrina. Bailey was one of St. Louis' Sanctuary bunnies. He passed away from a tumor that spread rapidly through his body. He was given more life than anyone could hope for and will be missed by all who came to love him. He now waits at Rainbow Bridge for his Katrina.

Pooter
1997-2000

She touched my life and broke my heart. On earth for such a short time, she was a carrot-crunching, foot-petting loving bunny. They say rabbits only communicate with their body, but she was the most vocal bunny I've seen. She would honk, chirp and squeak to get attention. Keep waiting at Rainbow Bridge, sweet girl. Mom will see you there. - Kelly

Let's enjoy one of the most beautiful poems ever written. I don't read it often because I still become very emotional and think of my first bunny, Pooter.

Just this side of Heaven, is a place called Rainbow Bridge...

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
