Terms and Conditions

• I agree to provide this dog with food, water, shelter, and appropriate veterinary, including routine vaccinations and year-round hearworm prevention. The original owner/rescuer reserves the right to verify compliance at any time with your vet.
• I understand that there are no guarantees as to the health or disposition of this dog. This dog is being adopted 'as is'; therefore, once you take possesion of this dog, we will not be held responsible for any further veterinary bills, injuries or property damage.
• I understand that this dog may not be sold, given away, abandoned, or turned over to any other animal control facility, rescue group, shelter or research facility for any reason. If it becomes necessary to give up this dog, it must be returned to Wayward Collie Rescue, (573) 483- 3622 or (314) 401- 3104. This contract is non-transferrable.
• I understand that for the first 14 days, I will receive a refund of my adoption donation if I return this dog. After 14 days, there are no refunds.
• I agree that this dog will be an indoor dog and family member. This dog will not be chained outside, nor live in a dog house, outbuilding or garage. This dog will not remain soley in a crate while indoors, nor more than 9 hours per day. While the adopter is home, this dog will not be confined soley to one room and must have run of the house as a family member.
• I agree that this dog will not ride in the back of a pickup truck under any circumstances whether in a cage, crate, or tied. This dog will not be left in a vehicle in extreme heat or a vehicle with windows down.
• I understand that small children may not be left unattended with this dog. An adult must be present at all times when children are with this dog.
• I understand that a leash is required whenever this dog is taken out in any public area, or in any area which enforces a leash law. This dog shall, at all times, be required to wear a collar with current rabies tag and an identification. A training collar or choke chain shall be used only under the supervision of a proffessional trainer.
• I agree to allow the original owner/rescuer to make in-home inspections at any time during this dog's life to ensure that this contract is being fully complied with. If the contract is being breached, I agree to forfeit ownership of this dog, and upon demand, shall return this dog to Wayward Collie Rescue, Bloomsdale, MO (573) 483-3622.
• I agree that this dog shall not be trained or encouraged to develop an aggressive or dual personality. This dog shall not be used as a watchdog or form of protection.
• I agree to notify the original owner/rescuer immediately if this dog becomes lost, in the event of it's death, of any Animal Control action, or of any change of environment that may affect this dog.
