We have some policy changes effective starting 2004
Please note the following conditions that are NOT NEGOTIABLE
Must have a verifiable vet history! This is a must!
No first time pet owners; I know many of you are very worthy of a dog and I also believe you are likely very responsible, loving people BUT my experience has taught me that the stress and worry caused by the unknown is too much for ME. I am sorry for any sad feelings this might cause.
The info you provide regarding your family composition, home and yard will be verified. This info is critical for a good match to be made.
Some key points to know
If we do not have a dog that matches your situation then you will be notified. Often, it's not about you, it's about the dogs I have at the time. I spend lots of time with these guys and have an idea in my head (in advance) of a good match.
I don't need to move quantities of animals here, we do not enjoy any proceeds. Due to this factor, I can and do take time to get to know and observe each and every one of my kritter's till I think I know what THEY would like for a life and family.
THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO KNOW It's not about getting YOU a dog you would like, my focus is to find a family THEY would like and could thrive in. I do not provide my thoughts in advance of the application and rarely even verbalize them. This often results in declines of otherwise great homes that I just don't have a dog for, and again, I don't deal in mass numbers so I may not have a dog that does match.
I am always glad to provide ideas, links, emails, and referrals for a dog that is suitable when I don't happen to have one.
Often I keep email addresses and sort them by desire so if I were to hear or learn or receive a pet that would be of interest to you, upon request, I could add your name and you could receive no obligation updates on dogs. Just ask. With just as simple a request you can later be removed, no questions asked, no hassles, no problem.
And, as always, adoption fees are not negotiable and will end all attempts to adopt.
Before you go to the time to fill all this in please realize not all dogs are suitable for all forms of shipping. Some dogs, due to past experiences with humans, don't meet new humans well. It may be necessary for one of us to be present to ease the introduction to assure the success of the critical onset bonding time. Some individuals will not be considered for homes requiring airlines/ground transport systems if I think it will terrify them. I do enjoy using hired ground transport that some dogs that would not be able to tolerate the plane could go with the service (www.pets2go.com) when possible. I do not use volunteer ground. Due to financial strain we no longer can deliver dogs but try to accommodate as much as possible.
